I've been getting this as I've been playing FEAR 3 and Crysis 2 with DirectX 11 lately. I can play up to 10 minutes ingame until the game stops responding. It feels like the display drivers have stopped working and have restarted but it has only told me that has happened a few times.
I have a GTX 580, an i7-2600, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD5 mobo.
I haven't touched clock settings or anything in my BIOS, and my GPU seems to be idling at around 35 C.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
I've also tried the latest nVidia driver, as well as rolling back to the previous two. I have the latest DirectX.
Look in the Event Viewer, in the 'Summary of Administrative Events' there will be a few categories. Look under 'Warning' and see if there is anything with an event ID of 4101 or with 'Display' as the source. Double click it and see the extra info, if it is the driver crashing then see my thread about it here for some info about it and tests to find out the cause.
