• Computer taking 20+ minutes to finish booting

It boots to the desktop fine but ot acts as if it is loading something and whwn I try to click anywhere it freezes until its done loading. win 7 p4 3.0Ghz 2Gb ram
might want to check out your ram. i believe you when you say you have 2GB, but it might be broken. put in a readyboost stick to see if that speeds things up
run avg and run cleanup!

everyone past the first reply was wrong, I think I have bad ram or slow ram, thanks it now boots up in about 2 minutes. and p4 on win7 is fine.

Yeah, check msconfig and anything that you've recently installed. I had an issue with Windows 7 recently where it stuck at the "Welcome" screen and wouldn't let me see my desktop. Safe Mode works wonders.
