Retailers are being warned they could face legal action if they continue to sell magazines showing naked and semi-naked images of women.

Pressure groups and lawyers say displaying the magazines or requiring staff to handle them could amount to sexual harassment or discrimination.
Campaigners say shops could be in breach of the Equality Act 2010.
The British Retail Consortium said its members do not sell anything illegal and have long followed industry rules.
Gender equality groups UK Feminista and Object have joined forces with 11 lawyers to launch the Lose the Lads' Mags campaign.
TBH, I honestly have no problem with this. You wanna fap? Okay, hit up google. Don't make us have to handle your fap material.
Instead of banning them, why not make Gal mags or whatever?
Last I checked pornography isn't illegal, and the magazines don't encourage sexual harassment/discrimination/inequality. Good luck trying to bring this to court.
Yeah this isn't gunna happen, especially considering Sun's page 3.
Why would you pay for those mags if you can already see everything in them for free on the internet?
They're "being warned" by a bunch of feminist groups and their lawyers. This is little more than bullying, really. They're not gonna get any law passed that would stop retailers from selling magazines.
A few years back the feminist society at my university attempted to have the union implement something along these lines; it failed by something like two thirds, with a significant number of female students voting against.
Wait, people buy those magazines?
Wait, people buy those magazines?
For the articles, dude, it's just for the articles.
Wait, people buy those magazines?
I always assumed that they bought them furtively in the middle of the night, preferably while wearing brown trenchcoats and pulled down flat caps
Instead of banning them, why not make Gal mags or whatever?
They do, but in the UK like 30% of all the magazines are lad mags I swear. The other 70 is divided up between train magazines and magazines telling you how to use your iphone.
Wait, people buy those magazines?
Someone I knows mother used to buy them for him
it was weird.
In that case they should get rid of Men's Health those covers are just obscene.
Lads' mags are softcore and usually have jokes and articles on cars / alcohol / other stuff men like, they aren't porn mags
Instead of banning them, why not make Gal mags or whatever?
There are, I'd also count things like Heat to be a 'Gal' mag too.
Yeah this isn't gunna happen, especially considering Sun's page 3.
page 3 has already been toned down, have you not seen them recently?

Yup, chicks dig porn.
Oh no, breasts!
Instead of banning them, why not make Gal mags or whatever?
because objectifying men as well as women isn't doing any good.
i don't think banning them is a good idea, but i guess this is a way of getting attention to the problem.

What's the problem exactly?
If they ban the Sun and the Star I could get behind this.

Then don't work at a fucking shop.
So images of consenting models in lad's mags are offensive, but paparazzi pictures of celebrities in bikinis on every gossip magazine isn't?
