• Email Server: Not sending messages!
    5 replies, posted
Recently I've been working on this email server / program update database. The database is functioning, but the email part is not. I'm using Surge-Mail Server 7.5 (I Think) Ports 110,25, 80, 155 are open, and my port checker tells me they're not being blocked by my ISP. I can send messages only on Lan. I've tried sending it to Hotmail, Yahoomail, Google Mail, and some other one. But all the inboxes are empty, though the server told me it was sent successfully. I used the web email login page on port 80, but I cannot access it from the outside for some odd reason. I've tried many servers. One worked, but the authorization kept saying it was failing; another one says DSN (Not Dns) test failed; another says that port 125 is being used by something else. I did hear that Linux server can do it too, but I don't have a second machine at the moment, nor know how set it up. The email server is currently going to be for me only. Can anyone help me?
Make sure some other program's not using the ports. Run NETSTAT and see if anything's using the ports besides your e-mail server.

Did you open the ports on your router as well? Unless that's what you mean by "open."

Anyone else got any ideas?
