WTF is this "Bokeh" you say? Bokeh is when an object, usually brighter than its surroundings, is extremely out of focus, making it a polygon example: Okkk, so how do I change the shape? This is extremely simple. Too simple you might think. 1. Cut out a circle, with its diameter being the same size or slightly smaller than the front of the lens, (including the black plastic bits) 2. Find out the center of the circle (if you can't do this, I have reason to believe that you didn't go to school ) 3. Mark out you want the bokeh to be, a good shape is a heart [Img]http://www.diyphotography.net/files/images/bokeh_heart.jpg[/img] 4. Cut out three black rectangles, about 5cm or 2" 5. Stick these black rectangles onto the edge of the circle, at equal intervals 6. Put the circle over your lens 7. Bend the black rectangles by 90 degrees 8. Use a rubber band to fasten the black rectangles to your lens body 9. To take a photo, zoom in till you cant see the black paper 10. The higher your f-stop, the larger the bokeh will be, however if the cutout is very large, its edges will get cut out (I know that this is needless complicated by me (-_-;)
This is just a copy paste, I've seen it here before.
Yeah there's been like 10 tutorial threads on this.
Huh, Well now I know. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] My 50mm f/1.8 makes hexagonal bokeh. I wonder what would happen if I stuck a heart along with the hexagons.
This is just a copy paste, I've seen it here before.
Doesn't matter, it's still a good read for those that doesn't know anything about it
Does anyone have some images they have taken using this?
Pro tip: get an old filter holder and make this 10x easier. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline]
Does anyone have some images they have taken using this?
[editline]16th January 2011[/editline] real mature.... on a less funny note, does anyone know the ratio between fstop and max size of hole?
