That's actually really good
Curious what kind of specs it'll have considering it's size
Why don't they just build the damned thing into the controller?
Apparently its using a tegra video card, so...it'll be about as strong as my SGS3 or the HTC onex

Tegra 3
1Gb RAM ect ect
Just Google it?
Yeah this is stupid, figured from the get-go, but this just solidifies that feeling.

It'll be about as powerful as a nexus 7.
Which you can pick up for £159 ($200)

The Nexus 7 is, incidentally, more functional as well by virtue of being a tablet. You still got your HDMI out and you can hook up controllers to it via Bluetooth.

And you know it has support from google and developers. Unlike this.

Seeing as this OUYA is going to be open sourced, there's a good chance that anything made on it can be easily ported over to any Android device, too.

I don't know what you're implying with the price, Ouya is going to be $99

Nexus 7 doesn't have HDMI out, and it doesn't support MHL.

Even making a dock using the pogo pins won't work since you'd need 5 pins for HDMI output.

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit. I stand corrected.

I think he's implying that for $100 more you get a far more functional device with more support behind it.
Someone is going to trip over your controller while you're playing it in the living room. Instead of just sliding a bit like normal consoles it'll fly across the room.
so I actually have to worry about that guy on the sidewalk when I throw this one out the window

No moving parts though.

The Nexus 7 comes with identical specs, with a HD touch screen, camera and battery.
The Ouya isn't anywhere near to being out yet and yet they're targeting the same hardware. It's going to be outdated very quickly.
It looks like it has potential, but I have a feeling itll be just filled with casual games like angry bird clones and emulatons of old games seeing as it probably won't be able to run actual games like battlefield or COD.

Good luck tripping over a wireless controller.

That happened to my Gamecube once. :(
I do hope they replace the buttons with O, U, Y, and A instead of multicolored circles because multicolor circles will be a pain to use since they all look the same.

You also have to buy the controller, so you have to pay about 2.5-3 times the cost of the OUYA.
How many games actually support controllers well? I really don't play mobile games at all so I wouldn't know. And if the support isn't very good, it would definately improve for Android games when the OUYA is released.

Letters inside the circles.

It happened to my Gamecube on a monthly basis and it never broke. Wish consoles and machines in general were as sturdy.

I thought about this while writing the post but fuck you.
That's kind of weird, I was under the impression proper wireless controllers were expensive to make. Is that just Sony being dicks?

That's just Nintendo being Nintendo.

IDK, I only ever deal with emulators.

uh the sony controller aren't expensive because they're wireless... it's because they are quite good quality, have pressure sensitive buttons plus motion controls/rumble support?
i think at release the ps3 controllers were cheaper than the dualshock controllers

My PS2 never ever broke. Damn thing still works.
Gamecubes are structurally supportive and strong. It's a really durable machine.

How do you multiplayer then? Or HDMI?
