So lately I've been wanting to build a gaming pc. My budget is around 520$ and I just need some help on deciding what processor to choose.
I want to get the FX-8350 with the 8 cores, ( yes i know amd can sometimes bottleneck gpu's ) I want to get the gtx 1050 from zotac for gpu , or the Intel i3-6100, or the AMD-6300
I know majority would go with Intel because stronger cores and amd has weaker cores compared to intel, and I know the fx series only support DDR3 where has the intel i3 support ddr4 i think ( i forgot )
I just want you all's opinions as to what path I should take
Honestly, for that pricerange I'd usually just wait and set up a slickdeals email alert for a prebuilt to go on sale and go from there.
$350-370 is the average for a 1TB HDD, i5-6400 with 8 gigs of ram on sale if you watch slickdeals.net for a week or two, and its a lot more hassle hunting deals on individual parts at that price range than to just get it over with in one purchase and add a low TDP GPU.
$500-600 just happens to be the pricerange where getting the best deals really makes or breaks a computer because you can make a lot of good decisions or a lot of poor ones.
So you'd recommend for me to go with pre-built and upgrade from there ?
Only one thats an exceptionally good value (one pops up every week or two on slickdeals). Otherwise, you can also spend a good amount of time digging for deals on individual components, but that takes a bit more effort.
Either is better than settling for an i3 or 8350 by just mashing something together on pcpartspicker.
