He is the third French serviceman to die since the start of military intervention in January. The paratrooper was killed on Saturday "assaulting an enemy position" in the Adrar des Ifoghas mountains.
Well it wasn't unexpected to happen at some point, really.
in other news, a recent study shows that people die in war

Captain Obvious: The Thread
Shocking.
I thought it said he died in mail and thought that we literally began shipping soldiers out for war
Wow it's pretty amazing that since the French went in, that only 3 have died so far.
Wow it's pretty amazing that since the French went in, that only 3 have died so far.
Believe it or not the French Armed Forces are as well trained as the majority of other large military countries. I know it's shocking, but apparently they turned running away from the enemy into advancing into them, success was found surprisingly.
So they sent in soldiers to fight terrorists? What were they expecting no one to die?
So they sent in soldiers to fight terrorists? What were they expecting no one to die?
No one said it was unexpected, not even them. We're just acknowledging the pointlessness of the article, let alone the thread for it.
call me morbid but I want to see the kill-to-death ratio in this, in all honesty.

It's sort of ridiculous how (nearly) unstoppable modern troops are. Obviously war is still extremely dangerous for everybody, but just look at insurgent and coalition casualties in Afghanistan.
Wow it's pretty amazing that since the French went in, that only 3 have died so far.
with that many casualties, it's only a matter of time until france surrenders unconditionally and mali will occupy france
