do you have a lumia 800 or 900 and want to try the windows phone 7.8 OS now? You can
let me begin with a warning
THIS WILL COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY REMOVE EVERYTHING OFF YOUR PHONE, BACKUP BEFORE PRECEDING, YOU ALSO MAY FUCK UP YOUR DEVICE IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW ME PERFECTLY CLEAR, IF YOU'RE INEXPERIENCED WITH DOING THIS SORT OF SHIT I RECOMMEND YOU WAIT FOR THE CONSUMER UPDATE
let's begin
you'll need 2 things
NaviFirmPlus
http://www.mediafire.com/?2cou6vn1baf5y5p#!
NokiaCareSuite 5.0
http://www.mediafire.com/?o9j12y86b5az679
once you have downloaded and installed both programs go into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers
and install WinUSB Drivers x64
okay once thats done go into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Application Launcher\bin
and then go to ApplicationLauncher
once you're in there click the last option which is the product support tool for store 5.0
(IF YOU HAVE UAC ENABLED ALLOW ALL 3 REQUEST TO PRECEDE)
now plug in your device and make sure you unlock the phone to get some things
first you need the Designator and the productcode, your designator is already told up above so it'll be RM-801 and in basic info your product code of 10 characters should be displayed
open your favourite writing program and paste it in here they're vital for the next steps
you can close NCS if you want to, we need to now make a directory for these things
go into C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products (if products isn't made, make it) and then make a new folder inside of products called after your designator (so RM-801 for example) this is where NCS will read it and where it will be placed
you'll be needing it later but jump into NaviFirmPlus
You need to search for your Lumia 800 with your RM-number, then the latest firmware which should be 8558 (this is the 3rd thing in from the digit thing so xxx.xxx.8558.xxx)
now find your country one, BUT YOU CAN'T FIND IT CAN YOU, this is because it's only out for some countries but this isn't an issue since you can download any language you feel like, you can still have your regional and language later after the instillation
mark everything and do not and i repeat do not tick use productcode as final path, we'll do that later
make sure the download path is where we made it inside Nokia\Packages\ Products, this is just easier to manage everything, you can move it later
Once it's all done you need to change the productcode for 3 files, .dcp .vpl and .signature

Where that highlighter mark is, is where you have to insert your productcode, this is essential for it to work, make sure you do it with the other 3
okay once that is done let's jump back into NCS, and to the product tools for store 5 area and then where that cube is click refresh data packages or whatever, the cube should be green, if not make sure your path to the files is clear for Nokia by going to Files > settings and just adjusting the path
then press programming > refurbish > start
from this point on your phone will be flashed by Nokia, if you get an error, it's probably your phone locking itself, to get rid of this make sure your password disabled, anymore questions or problems just put it in this thread
there is a video tutorial that explains it, it may be easier for you, but basically what I wrote here is the same

Seems a bit of a complex way, isn't it coming out soon?
And it really isn't worth the effort. I've been running the final build for weeks on my Focus and wow I can fit more tiles on the screen without scrolling and there are more colors. Absolutely magical, totally warrants a whole new version number. I feel bad for people who bought the Lumia 900 on a two year term, let alone the Canadians who got it on a three year one.

Oh and how about changing the bluetooth audio settings. Default BitPool is like 30 and it still doesn't do A2DP for videos without registry edits which aren't possible on most WP7 devices(although I've heard reports Nokia fixed that latter one themselves?"
I noticed something else that haven't seen yet

they took their time to include that..

It's not like they turned over to the NT kernel or anything. Only on WP8 of course, but I think a UI change is fairly mayor, so calling it 7.8 is in my opinion warranted.
is it possible to put the NT kernel on 7.5 devices?
