I am looking to upgrade my rig to a far better graphics chipset. MY SPECS: 2.90 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X6 1065T 8GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6450 Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. CM1730,CM1830 ------------------------------------------------------------------ I can, unsurprisingly, run all source games fine. However, recent games such as Skyrim, SWTOR, and GW2 I am having trouble running effectively. I need to reduce a lot of graphical options severely to get close to my desired framerate My budget range is $100-$300 for a new graphics card. I am planning on taking a summer job to fund for the graphics card in a week or two. My goal is to run recently released games at mid-high settings at 60 fps. I have had my rig for a year or two, and I know the graphics card is SERIOUSLY lacking. Does Hardwarepunch have any ideas of what cards I should get? How big is your power-supply? If its over 500W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102986 This will definitely run skyrim with all the settings maxed. Could probably add some graphical mods too if you want to. Plus its future-proof and you have 50$ to spare.
If you have two PCIe slots and a decent PSU, crossfire HD 7770s, they're almost as good as a 7970
