http://gizmodo.com/5374499/almost-nobody-owns-just-macs
NPD's Household Penetration Study found a 3% uptick in Mac households for 2009. This makes sense! What's surprising (or not) is that of the 12% of homes with a Mac, less than 2% are Mac-exclusive. The 2% figure is extrapolated from NPD's less direct assessment:
[A]pproximately 12 percent of all U.S. computer owning households own an Apple computer, up from 9 percent in 2008. While Apple ownership is growing, those households are decidedly in favor of mixed system environments. Of those 12 percent, nearly 85 percent also own a Windows-based PC.
At first glance, these stats almost seem wrong, but when you start think about it, they make sense: The survey polled "households," which, on account of grandma's Compaq or your roommate's gaming PC, clobbers the exclusivity figure. (I live in what any reasonable person would call a "Mac household"—three people who use Macs almost exclusively—but that little Acer netbook sitting on the table means we're not.) Plus, PCs are cheap and they linger, and Macs, being pricier, tend to find their way into richer households, where more than one computer is almost a given. That, combined the fact that most Macs sold are laptops, and therefore a little more likely to be a supplemental computer, makes the 2% figure look a little less crazy, but still, 2%? Fanboys, you're slacking.

and almost everyone at my school owns any type of iPod.
No kidding, maybe Apple should stick to mobile devices? There pretty much wasting money on Macs.

Gah, there's some kid at my school that brings his laptop to school everyday, and when someone asked him why he had an apple sticker on it he said it was because he wanted it to be a mac. (It's a lenovo laptop running linux)
Hahaha fuck macs
Most of professionals (Doctors, designers, etc.) own macs.
It's true. I've got a PC, two junkie PCS, and my MacBook. I love my MacBook, but I like windows more and I need it to do gaming.
I have snow leopard OSX86 on the second partition of this ASUS laptop, and my primary OS is Windows 7 What does that count as?
It's true. I've got a PC, two junkie PCS, and my MacBook. I love my MacBook, but I like windows more and I need it to do gaming.
Same thing right here.
Most of professionals (Doctors, designers, etc.) own macs.
because they r too dumb for computers
My old as dirt PC broke so now I'm stuck with my minimac. only thing to do with it is photoshop, and WoW but that got boring a looooong time ago.
Most of professionals (Doctors, designers, etc.) own macs.
I've never been to a doctor's office where anyone aside from the receptionist wasn't using a Dell, Compaq, or other form of commonly available PC.

Mac generally have limited and specific usages. They're generally specialized computer, not general computers. They say mac do everything, but mac are generally only good for one or two things and you can't just write your own software or have open source access to things.
Mac users are just as annoying as their commercials, I'm talking from my experience with arguing with a Mac fan. They're the most naive people in the universe. Fuck them.
Macs are just PCs that are all shiny and have a different operating system, and they cost a fuckload of money. My school is 75% mac, and it annoys the shit out of me. Especially how the school has a mac server which PCs cannot connect to.
My household is Mac exclusive. No, I don't feel special, more so just saying. Mac bashing, it's really cool. :geno: If you're just going to bash people that use them, you're no better than the people you're bashing, which are morons anyway. The people you're bashing are the ones that don't realize you can buy a mouse not made by Apple and have it work in their Apple computer. Those people are computer ignorant and really aren't worth your time anyway, right? I learn all the Mac and Apple quirks on my own and do all the Windows stuff at school. I happen to not like Windows near as much, but whatever. I can do what I want to do on my laptop since I'm not a PC gamer, so it doesn't really effect me. Further editing: Boot camp is pretty cool. My favorite thing is when Windows exclusive users bash Mac OSes, but then they use RocketDock or shit their pants over features that are added to windows or are plug-ins they can get that are really standard on Mac OS X. It's just a computer. Last edit, I swear: I really do like Snow Leopard (OS 10.6). It's pretty slick and I haven't had any issues with it yet. lolboxes
Most of professionals (Doctors, designers, etc.) own macs.
At the graphic design firm I spent some work experience at, everyone used Macs, except the one hailed as a bit of a design guru, who insisted on using a PC. The best professionals, and the ones with brains (the rest weren't particularly pleasant or all that bright) in my experience stick with PC's.

So it would seem in my experiences anyway.
No kidding, maybe Apple should stick to mobile devices? There pretty much wasting money on Macs.
No kidding, everyone's wasting money on Apple's overpriced devices. Maybe we should stick to non-overhyped brands?
and almost everyone at my school owns any type of iPod.
Fuck, i hate this stereotype. Girls assume everyone has an iPod (Real men don't use iPods) and that everyone uses facebook. I only have facebook because i wanted to see Garry Newman's profile :sigh:
No matter how many facts there are defending the Macs Windows fanboys won't listen fairly so I don't think I'm going to bother this time.
If you want to debate the versatility of the two operating systems, I will let you make the first move. You did mention that they are not capable? What exactly can they not do that a Window based PC can do?
Macs are good for film editing and that is about it, and even then you can do it decently on a windows computer
Macs are good for film editing and that is about it, and even then you can do it decently on a windows computer
so why do people buy macs.
so why do people buy macs.
Rich people who like to buy expensive things, people who think shiny makes it go faster, people who fall for those sleazy mac adverts In my opinion they're a waste of money, what a windows can't do a Linux install can do for free. I suppose their notebooks are good though for business travelers, they're durable as fuck and all my previous schools ones which where 7 years old are still intact and working decently
I own a Linux.
