Some often debated car topics rolled into one. What is the ideal powertrain to you? As an MR2 Turbo fan, my vote goes towards mid-engine rear wheel drive manual due to its unique handling characteristics and off-the-line grip, although some may dislike the car's lack of control under wheelspin (understeer / snap oversteer) and the fact that even having two trunks will not hold a week's worth of groceries (User was banned for this post ("really" - garry))
title might as well have been ABCDEFGH Cars! I prefer the manuals as I dont trust automatic's Flappys are funky and feel strange to use This is coming from someone who doesnt have a driving licence
This is Facepunch, the majority of its users can't legally drive.
I don't mind what car is it as long as I can drive it.
However I prefer a manual transmission front wheel drive. But that's just because I own a vehicle of that nature. Turbo
Flappy Paddles since I like the name. Don't know what it is but it sounds pretty cool.
I doubt enough people on facepunch know enough about whatever it is you're talking about to have a serious debate. I choose flappy paddles
FR, or AWD for me, preferably manual. And Either a Turbocharged V6/I4 or a Supercharged V8 for ideal motors.
It really depends on what I'm doing, and the engine that's in it. For example, when I'm driving a jeep or something on the sand or on a trail or something, I'd prefer a manual transmission, you can basically let the clutch out and it'll roll by itself in 4x4 low, but the clutch on our suzuki swift is extremely hard to operate, mainly because I don't have much experience with a manual as my truck is an automatic, but it doesn't move unless you do it perfectly every single time, and has no power. If the thing I'm driving is mainly used for the road, and just all around driving, i'd like an automatic. However, my mom has a Z4 that is very fun to drive with the flappy paddles.
Flappy Paddles since I like the name. Don't know what it is but it sounds pretty cool.
Shift up and down. Essentially semi automatic. I need to have a AWD/4WD/RWD car to have any enjoyment. Also, must have a proper manual gearbox.
Sequential gearbox, up and down. Essentially semi automatic.
WAIT, I just remembered what Flappy Paddles are. Took me a while but now I remembered. Now that I remember what they are I would still say they are the best.

The way I'm looking at it, I'll end up driving a manual transmission RWD car until I'm like 30. I wouldn't mind a FWD with automatic transmission though. Add cruise control on top of that and I'm set.
