So I've had this for a while actually, sometimes when I play intensive games I guess, my computer will sometimes lock up with a black screen and repeating sound (kinda like a drill noise, in audio output, not in the machine itself.)
It just happened now after I quit The Forest and attempted to open Chrome. The usual happened, but I decided to keep this state going for a while to see what would happen. The computer gave off 4 short beeps.
Anyone know what this means? I Googled and heard something about RAM issues but these RAM sticks aren't terribly old. Does anyone know for sure?
I suppose my specs may be relevant so, here:
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LX
Graphics card: Asus GeForce GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 2GB
Processor: Intel Core2 i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x4GB (8GB)
DVD drive: LiteOn DH-20A1L
Hard drive: SAMSUNG HD103UJ, 1TB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Think I figured it out for anyone reading this in the future. My power supply is some cheap brand that probably doesn't hold up under pressure.
Gonna buy a good brand one with some power behind it to see if things change.

There's been a development.
Just now after a round of BF3 I shut down the game and immediately opened Chrome and opened a few tabs. The system hanged (with no looping sound this time) and the screen flashed different colors followed by 4 short beeps.
I Googled around and it does seem like it has to do with power supply. I have not bought a new one since my last edit.
