UK MPs have attacked Donald Trump's sharing of far-right posts, accusing him of fuelling hate and calling for a planned state visit to be cancelled.
One Tory MP said the world would be "a better place" if Prime Minister Theresa May could persuade the US president to delete his Twitter account.
The US president retweeted three videos posted by a British far-right group.
When Mrs May said he had been "wrong" to do so he said she should focus on combating terrorism in the UK.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd said she hoped Mrs May's criticism "would have some impact on the president" - but she rejected calls for his state visit to be called off.
Why? I'd rather have my daily shitshow in the morning with my pop or tea. :v:
What bothers me is Twitter won’t take action against him, after sharing those graphically violent videos the other day there has to be some violation of policy; yet they more than likely won’t remove his account out of fear of losing hundreds of thousands of users. It’s ridiculous.
why delete his twitter? keep it up so that we can get more and more shit to use against him.

It'd be good PR though

Rules don't seem to apply for people like El Presidente Naranja.
It'd be good PR though
PR is worthless if you at the same time lose customers. PR is used to gain customers. Losing hundreds of thousands due to Trump-followers quitting in outrage would outweigh any gain it might cause, as a business.

I came here to post that exact response.
His twitter is will be like a history book where we can look back on all his mistakes and crimes

why ban someone you use as promo material in other countries?

They already made a statement on this saying that Trump's tweets are "newsworthy" and therefor they do not have to follow the community guidelines.
https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/9/26/16367510/twitter-trump-threats-not-policy-violations This is about something else but the same rules apply
As painful as it is to read this garbage, Trump’s tweets can be used against him in a court of law. The Britain First videos, for example, will likely be cited as evidence of Trump’s prejudice against Muslims when determining the fate of his travel ban and other racist executive orders.

On one hand, we might be able to use some of his tweets in a court of law against him.
On the other hand, every tweet he sends is further propaganda and indoctrination for his followers and a standard to rally behind for the alt right.
I'm fairly certain there is a better net gain with deleting his account than allowing it to continue in hopes it may be used against him.
I wonder if Trump realises that Britain First were a contributing factor to the murder of Jo Cox. Showing support for them in any way is a big no-no to the vast majority of people in the UK.

Middle ground: Freeze the account. Remove his ability to post, to delete, to edit tweets, while at the same time retaining the tweets he's already made as matter of public record.

I can almost guarantee that Trump and his supporters probably have no idea who Jo Cox was

He compensates for his failures in fulfilling policies like draining the swamp, fixing healthcare and protecting LGBT by going OTT with political incorrectness.
If enough people report Donald Trump's twitter account(s), is there an automated system that disables the account similar to mass reports on YouTube videos?
If so, I know what Facepunch's next project should be.

I'm in so long as this doesn't technically constitute raiding. May need to talk to a mod first about it.
I'm getting the vibe from that, that the moderation team on Twitter considers these types of hateful Tweets to be part of a legitimate conversation. IE, they don't think that the current trend of spreading Islamophobia through bare faced lies and deceit is unacceptable.
Fuck them. So hard.
The only benefit taking away his twitter gives is not having to read his bullshit and taking away his biggest platform to spread it, but he's the president, it won't trouble him to find another one.
Considering how poorly thought out his tweets are though the benefits of having it far outweigh the negatives. A lot of his tweets could be considered breaches of the law themselves in his position, or implicating in his other crimes. Why cut it off when it's a goldmine of lies, and contradictory statements that just keeps on giving?

The thing is Trump's followers are part of a demographic that has attempted to boycott Twitter multiple times in the past and always fail due to a combination of widespread addiction and and there being no definitive alternative for them. You're right, Twitter is afraid of losing customers, but those fears may not be as realistic as they think.
Fuck no don't delete it. Can't yell Fake News if it comes directly out of his mouth
I truly hope that in the distant future, when this Era of Trump blows over and mankind recovers from The Commander in Cheeto's misdeeds, that his Tweets can be purchased carved into stone tablets that immortalize his sheer fucking idiocy and mental instability forever. None of his actions deserve to be forgotten by history.
To paraphrase some ancient Chinese bloke, never interrupt your political opponent when they're making a terrible mistake.
Can we leave in an exception for when said opponent fuck ups can crash the world economy into the greatest economic crisis every seen™.
Well was just talking bout the Twitter thing, it's helping in a way to ensure his downfall; by proving the travel ban is intended to target Muslims, to potentially demonstrating obstruction of justice.
