Court documents filed in Itasca County on Tuesday said Joseph Christen Thoresen allegedly struck the victim with a baseball bat and stabbed him multiple times in the lungs. Thoresen was angry because the victim allegedly raped his girlfriend. The victim has been identified as David Alexander Haiman of Hibbing.
Source This is close to a cabin I sometimes stay at. Disturbing to say the least.
Fucking brutal.
Important thing to note: Alleged [editline]28th July 2016[/editline] I could've been this killer, maybe even this victim. I had a manipulative ex that tried to convince me to murder her exes with false claims of rape and abuse, and blaming any problems we had with the relationship on it. Edit: I should also note she would cheat and when she was caught pretended it was black mail/abuse and threats, which I found to be untrue, and iirc she encouraged violent retribution then aswell
If the victim truly was a rapist then the only problem i have with what happened after is that his murderer got caught..

Northern Minnesota is essentially the deep south, except cold and grey. My sister lives up there, so I'm glad this creep is off the streets.

Because we can't know whether he was or not, and vigilanteism is a slippery slope. If he was guilty though, well then he deserved everything he got. The punishment was merited in that case.
You're fucked in the head if you think beheading someone is okay.
Kids tend to be bad at thinking things through, when Alex grows up they'll know better.
Check the date of your article: 06/29/2016 I also fucking hate people who take the law into their own hands like this. You should calm your revenge boner down before you know all the details and decide to take the law into your own hands.
If the victim truly was a rapist then the only problem i have with what happened after is that his murderer got caught..
If the victim was a rapist then he should have faced the punishment for being a rapist as dictated by his local government's laws
You should probably report that if you haven't.
I reported her to CPS for something unrelated. I plan on taking action when I have a case together. I've got a lot of screenshots and shit in a folder on one of my computers. I'm not sure if I can prove she encouraged that though, but I've got plenty else. Thank you for your concern.
You'd think we could all agree that lynchings are a bad thing
You'd think we could all agree that lynchings are a bad thing
nuh uh he was evil and thus is not a person and has no rights
I can empathize with the murderer. Sure, on principle I agree that it's wrong to take the law into your own hands, but I can safely assure you that if I knew for a fact, and beyond any possible doubt, that the guy had in fact raped my girlfriend, I'd be too angry to care about 'right' and 'wrong'. Would I kill for that? I like to think I wouldn't, but I can't be sure; it'd depend on the circumstances. No matter how rational you think you are, every person has a breaking point. The sooner you know yours, the safer you'll be. Just be grateful you're not that guy, who's now going to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Ruining their lives with jail time and a criminal/sex offense record and having them live with their shitty existence seems a lot more gratifying than becoming a monster yourself and living in fear you may be found out Not to mention the mental effects it must have to yourself to stab someone in the lungs a dozen times and behead them. Imagine that. Watching someone's head roll or fly off. Now imagine it happening in reality infront of you. Now imagine you just did that. Not just the visual horror of real gore but the realization you've just stamped out a source of life. Of course since he stabbed him in the lungs multiple times first this guy was probably already gone in that regard. [editline]29th July 2016[/editline] I laugh my ass off at violence and gore in films and games, and tape of real life violence doesn't bug me too much especially after how much I've seen, but I just can't imagine feeling fine with such a thing in reality, right infront of me. I can barely handle killing a spider. [editline]29th July 2016[/editline] I do believe that killing becomes easier via desensitization after the first one, and subsequent kills, but that makes the thought even more terrifying.
I definitely wouldn't do what the dude did since I couldn't handle doing that to a person, and I have kids I'd be fucking over by effectively locking myself away from them, but I understand to an extent the anger there. Too often punishment for rape is way too light, having something so heinous done to a loved one does crazy things to people.
While its horrible for him to have done that, I can understand how some people would fly into a rage and not think about the consequences of murdering someone that (allegedly) raped their girlfriend.
The worst part about this is you can actually see that the guy's looking somewhat remorseful in that mugshot. Like he finally got time to really reflect on what he did and all the guilt hit him like a freight train.
The treatment of people who commit sex offences in the U.S. makes me want to cry.
The treatment of people who commit sex offences in the U.S. makes me want to cry.
The treatment of people by sex offenders makes me want to cry. If you rape someone you deserve everything coming to you, Justice they deserve above all. I don't see how someone can cry crocodile tears over fucking rapist and child molesters. [editline]29th July 2016[/editline] I find it funny on here how people defend about every crime in the book cops commit, yet if anyone else does exactly what the cops do people call for their heads, legal or not.

Jail time and a life-ruining record won't do shit when you're unable to control yourself sexually. And frankly I disagree with you, as I'm strongly anti-prison and I see every person the same no matter what they do. It makes me sad to see people who fail to understand that this is not how we should deal with this type of crime.

Just let them Rome free so they can rape whoever they please?
The treatment of people who commit sex offences in the U.S. makes me want to cry.
It truly is barbaric. I recently went to check for crime in an area I was moving into for College and on the map were names, addresses, and faces of sex offenders with zero mention of what their crime was, so it was impossible to gauge if they were even dangerous at ANY point or not. Add that to the fact that any background search pulls up if you're a sex offender and boom, anyone on the sex offender list essentially has their entire life chucked into the gutter even if their offense wasn't that bad.
Exactly, I think I might have read your previous statement wrong. I thought you were crying because sex offenders were getting vigilante justice.
That makes me sad as well.
Exactly, I think I might have read your previous statement wrong. I thought you were crying because sex offenders were getting vigilante justice.
Vigilante justice is awful, even more so when the perp hasn't even been convicted.
