[release]What is this hockey you speak of? Ice hockey, usually called "hockey", is a team sport played on ice, in which skaters use wooden sticks, or, nowadays, composite sticks to shoot a hard rubber puck into the opponent's net. The game is played between two teams of six players each. Five members of each team skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team. Each team has a goalie that tries to stop the puck from going into the goal or "net." A fast-paced physical sport, it is most popular in areas that are sufficiently cold for natural reliable seasonal ice cover, such as Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. With the advent of indoor artificial ice rinks it has become a year-round pastime in these areas. In North America, the National Hockey League (NHL) is the highest level for men, and the most popular. The Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) and the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL) are the highest levels for women. It is the official national winter sport of Canada, where the game enjoys immense popularity. The first organized game was played on March 3rd, 1875 in Montreal, Canada- Wikipedia [/release] [release]NHL Standings http://www.nhl.com/ice/stanleycup.htm [/release] [release]Video Meanwhile in Russia... I like when when they kick each other's asses. Hockey is cool.
I play High School varsity right wing. Yesterday was my first game and I also got my first goal. We won 5-3 in our rival team's home opener. My x05's need some molding.
Dallas won 7-6 in Overtime, shit was ridiculous. all 13 goals

I know hockey players. Their mean and from Canada.
I find any sport that is just scoring on a net to be a joke.
I find any sport that is just scoring on a net to be a joke.
Just scoring on a net? LMAO I find anyone who speaks condescendingly of a subject he clearly knows nothing about to be a joke. [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] Balance, high focus on team skills, constant awareness, constant physicality, crazy amounts of coordination and the fact that any game you could suffer massive injury at any second. Off the top of my head.

Go Canucks.
I love me some icey hockey. Although I actually prefer the AHL to the NHL because it's a lot easier to go to AHL games and it's a lot more fun to see the games in person than to watch them on TV. At least to me.
If anybody has any questions about hockey, I can answer them.

Obviously there is more to hockey then just scoring on the net, but all the sports are practically the same youre just playing on a different surface.
I just watch because i like seeing fights to be honest.
I'm not a big fan of the sport. I like the fights... and the mighty ducks.
Go Rögle! Hopefully they will get in NHL sooner or later.
In North America, the National Hockey League (NHL) is the highest level for men
Actually women can play in the NHL, it's just only ever happened once. Also, I always found it kind of funny that the National Hockey League (NHL) is between two Nations [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] Also, god dammit Red Wings :(
Anyone else here make/repair their own hockey sticks?
Tried ice hockey but I couldn't stand up
Go Blackhawks!
are you allowed to beat the shit out of eachother?
You can fight in some leagues.
Anyone else here make/repair their own hockey sticks?
I repair my street hockey sticks. I have at least 10 of them.

I used to be a big hockey fan when I was younger but these days I just can't bring myself to watch it anymore.
I use to play ice hockey at my local rink in tournaments it ran etc. Then i broke my ankle riding and haven't skated since. I keep meaning to go back, i loved ice hockey. That was like 5 years ago.
Ice-hockey? A huge fan here. Just watched the JV boys pull off a win with only 4 seconds left. Winger passed it to the D who fired it right where mother keeps the peanut butter. Keep in mind in regular season HS hockey games there is no overtime.
Believe it or not Texas has quite a bit of hockey, Dallas especially. Hockey is by far my favorite sport, GO STARS.
