I guess my real question is will everything here work together and am I missing anything. Oh and for the OS I'm getting Win 7 Student edition for 65 bucks
why are you getting 2 cases
good but you can get a 6870 for not much more http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 and you might want to think about a hyper 212 evo to overclock the i5 what are you doing with the free case, if you're throwing it on ebay or something you could do something like bump up to a 560ti if you can spare the initial cost [editline]28th December 2011[/editline]
why are you getting 2 cases
the two hundred s comes free with the F3 [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.784795 combo with 6870/RAM to get a 6870 for mostly the same price as the 6850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.783352 2500k/212 evo combo
I would ditch the other case and pick up another GPU or more ram
I looked at the free case and I realize why it's free. It's junk... [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] Thanks so very much for those combos, reapaninja. Those will cut down the price a bit
if you can get $40 for it on ebay then I'd say it's pretty good junk
Yeah, that's what I was planning on. I was just saying to JohnFisher that I don't really want to drop the storm scout [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] Should I get more RAM? [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] I'm at 895 not including tax and shipping I'm still a little under budget so I'm thinking more RAM...
no 8GB is already more than enough unless you have specific uses like VMs, rendering, video/photo editing etc. then 8 is fine [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] hell 4 is fine, but right now RAM prices are so low it doesn't really make sense to get 4
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I might as well go for it all but is it enough for something like game recording? Also, I have no idea if everything here is compatible or if I have all the connecting parts...
a second HDD will help more than anything with recording but prices are so bad with HDDs at the moment that really I'd say leave that until prices fall again later in the year, unless this is vital (e.g. for a job) and yes everything is compatible
Alright, I'll do just that, thanks. I'm pretty sure this will run the games I want to play. [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] Ah, shit, I forgot I wanted an SSD for the OS on there, what would you guys suggest?
I am currently running a 6850, 8gb ram and a i5 2500k and I think you'll be satisfied with the performance (I havent tested games with the i5 yet though, but with my old AMD quad core I could max out/go high graphics on most if not all games out there, including Battlefield 3)
Alright, perfect, I think I've got my build set, thanks guys!
