Tied up, stripped and pinned to the floor by his comrades who have applied sniper tape to his genitalia - these horrifying photographs show how one British soldier was bullied by his colleagues after he said he didn't want to go out drinking.

The alleged victim, a new recruit who is just 18, is now back in Britain after going absent without leave after the bullying episode, and faces time in military prison. He says he is desperate to the leave the Army he had always dreamt of joining after bullying and abuse made his time in the Rifles division intolerable.
This is some nasty shit. It's hard to grasp how stuff like this still happens in this modern age. I don't blame him for going AWOL, this is why some soldiers fantasize about throwing grenades into tents full of their "brothers in arms". Not the best source, but still. I don't want to imagine what they're like drunk if they do shit like this sober. I'm disgusted.
Can't blame the whole for the individuals actions. They should be jailed.
Holy shit. this is fucking brutal
but it's not exactly a surprise that soldiers are awful (User was banned for this post ("this has nothing to do with the thread topic" - Orkel))
Not the best source, but still. I don't want to imagine what they're like drunk if they do shit like this sober. I'm disgusted.
Yeah I liked a gun page on Facebook, and I think somehow I accidentally liked this "Mr. Conservative" page. They have a ton of ridiculously stupid shit (calling Miley Cyrus's VMA performance "softcore porn" for one), but this news story, albeit unprofessionally written, caught my eye.
This kinda stuff is one of the many reasons I left the army. This subculture is a sad, dangerous fact and refusing to participate can often lead to extreme exclusion by those who are supposed to be your new brothers and sisters. Also, man, that source sucks. Every time you click on something it pops up with the "Please sign our useless petition to ban Obamacare don't tread on me!" etc.
If someone can find me a better source, I'll put it up. Trying to find a good article now. Edit: Updating the OP with a better source now
Different source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2416134/Teenage-Army-recruit-bound-stripped-bullied-comrades-desperate-quit.html
-oh misread-
People like this need to be discharged from the forces (not the victim, I hasten to add), because they have no place on a battlefield either. I find it somewhat strange that when the redcaps investigated he declined to press charges. I mean, I can understand why, but I find it strange he then released the story to the press.
As a rule of thumb: if a source can be improved upon with a daily mail article, keep looking
Reminds me of a story about a Russian immigrant who joined the marines and had this happen to him because he was Russian. On top of the physical abuse, he was given death threats. What makes it worse is that nobody did a thing. He went to his CO about it, the guy couldn't do anything for him.
I think certain stuff like this should follow what some US states do. With domestic violence and some other related crimes, even if the victim declines to press charges (which they often do, out of fear), then the law states that the state then becomes the victim regardless. It basically means if you commit an act of domestic violence (or another applicable crime), you are going to be charged no matter what. At least, I'm fairly certain that's how it works.
As a rule of thumb: if a source can be improved upon with a daily mail article, keep looking
The story is actually from the Mirror, which is basically a left-wing version of the Sun. Nothing in the broadsheets or the BBC or anything like that so far.
I had a rather difficult time finding a credible source for this story.
That soldier shouldnt be in military prison. He is the victim.
What the Fuck is wrong with people
Why would they take incriminating photographs?
Why would they take incriminating photographs?
People who do this sort of thing aren't exactly smart.
Why would they take incriminating photographs?
to show off the fact that they abused some recruit its like the criminals that take pictures with guns or drugs and post them on facebook
Hazing happens in every military organization, especially in Infantry units. It needs to stop.
Hazing happens in every military organization, especially in Infantry units. It needs to stop.
This isn't even hazing, it's sexual assault
I wouldn't really call that torture.
Hazing happens in every military organization, especially in Infantry units. It needs to stop.
Damn right it needs to stop. I honestly thought military personnel were trained to be assertive with their comrades, because they needed to trust one another in battle. Not to do this fucking shit to them. That's just disgusting. No wonder soldiers have gone over their head and shot people. If something like that happened to them, or worse without anyone finding out? Holy tits.
but it's not exactly a surprise that soldiers are awful
Not every soldier is like this... And wtf does that picture have to do with that article?
Not every soldier is like this... And wtf does that picture have to do with that article?
It pops up if you go to the source page Which you would know, if you went to the source page
It pops up if you go to the source page Which you would know, if you went to the source page
Hey guess what, I did. It didn't pop up for me at all. Nice job guy.
Hey guess what, I did. It didn't pop up for me at all. Nice job guy.
addblock??
Hey guess what, I did. It didn't pop up for me at all. Nice job guy.
It popped up on the ORIGINAL source page. You can read lower down on the first page that the OP changed his source.
