CLARIFICATION: The story below has been changed to reflect a clarification. The legal limit for intoxication in Minnesota only applies when the defendant is driving a vehicle.
A Northfield woman faces charges after police say she stabbed another man in the head several times with a fork.
Michelle Lee Walgenbach, 44, was charged with felony second degree assault with a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor fifth degree assault, according to a criminal complaint issued Monday by the Rice County Attorney’s office. If convicted, she could face a maximum of seven years in prison, 180 days in jail and as much as $16,000 in fines.
According to the complaint, Northfield police were dispatched last Wednesday to a local motel where Walgenbach and the victim were living. Police spoke with the motel owner and the victim, who was bleeding from three sets of puncture wounds on the left side and top of his head, the complaint said.
The victim allegedly told officers that he was watching TV in the motel when Walgenbach, who was “mad,” stabbed him several times with a fork.
Officers spoke with Walgenbach, who was “disheveled” and had “extremely bloodshot and watery eyes,” according to the complaint. Walgenbach admitted to stabbing the man, police say, and told officers that the victim and his girlfriend tried to rape her.
“I don’t see why he called the cops,” she allegedly told officers at the scene. “He knows he deserved it.”
Tests performed on the defendant revealed that Walgenbach had a blood-alcohol concentration of .306. She was transported to the detox unit at Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center, according to the complaint.
Walgenbach, who has prior convictions for domestic assault and disorderly conduct, is currently being held at the Rice County Jail. Bail for Walgenbach is set at $20,000, according to jail officials. Her next court date is scheduled for Nov. 15.[/release]

Ew, what's wrong with her face?
I used to live down the street from a foster home. I was friends with the girls who lived there and they were sitting down to eat dinner one night when one of the foster kids picked up a fork and stabbed my friend right in the throat. She was okay, but that kid was fucked up.
How was she not unconscious?
Looks like when she stabbed the guy, she threw a... fork into his plan to rape her.
Is that even a saying? Idk, I think it is.

When will you people see? The forks are the problem, not the people holding the forks! Ban forks! Screw those of us who actually use forks for eating, they are too dangerous! Make society safer!
