How surprising.

I love Molyneux but god does he make promises he can't keep.
fool me once, shame on me
fool me twice....
I'm lookin' forward to it. Casual town-building games are good, clean fun. As long as the worldshaping powers and editing tools are fleshed out and satisfying, it's the kind of addictive little game you could easily sink a few weeks into.
I wonder what'll become of the dude who won the prize in Curiosity, which was to be the in-game god-like player of the game (at least until someone else was chosen to replace them).

The god of all gods only changes variables e.g. weather, if people need to rest or not
but he does get royalties for 6 months
He should be able to follow through with most of these promises without Microsoft breathing down his neck with deadlines and what not.
At least this game is indie and playable in alpha/beta stages. So if he's unable to make what he promised that should be clearly noticeable even before release.

Even though you still have to pay for the alpha and beta, for the same price as the full released game.

Oh I wasn't even talking about playing it yourself, but the beta being out means you can read/watch what other people think about it and you'll be well informed about the development progress.

Can't tell if making joke or don't remember the phrase.
Molyneux: This is going to be awesome.
Game: Nope!
Molyneux: Well, this is going to be awesome then.
Game: Nope!
Molyneux: Well, this is definitely going to be awesome then.
Game: Nope!
Molyneux: How about...
Everyone else: For fucks sake!
The problem stems from giving too much detail and never leaving anything for players to discover on their own.

Well this time around they're actually holding back on things to say and let us experience it instead.
They're having discussions about what they should and shouldn't tell in their weekly update videos on youtube, which is why they haven't always been weekly.
In other words, it's going to be a standard city builder.
A Peter Molyneux game, in his natural habitat of god games (remember, he's the guy who fucking created the genre and produced its finest games), using a combination of incredibly simple features to create something huge, without the constraints of a publisher saying "hue you better make this game by next week or you're DEAD bucko"
Fucking day one purchase in my books, we're looking at the next Black and White in terms of "holy shit" here, guys
What if Black and White 3 existed?
What if Black and White 3 existed?
That depends. Is it an advancement on Black & White 2, or Black & White? If it's the first one, assuming he was free to do what he wanted with it, it'd probably be pretty damned good. If it's the second one, light it on fire and throw it down a well.
Isn't this more likely to succeed than previous big ambitions purely because he's not constrained as much as he was with previous developers?
Looks good.
Molyneux is well known for promising more then he can offer.
considering that there is a whole game jam that exists based on "revolutionary" game ideas of a twitter account mocking him, i would say that this is an understatement
