Basically I have this problem. I have a sheet that tells me; [release]Directions: a) For each of the integers, write an algebraic expression. Required: Write expressions to equal the integers from 1 through 20. b) Each algebraic expression must use five nines and no other numbers. c) Each algebraic expression must use all five nines. d) Each algebraic expression may use any symbols of mathematics such as parentheses, square root, plus, minus, divide, fraction lines, multiply, factorial, ect. e)You may use nines in exponents, but you may not introduce any numbers other than nines as exponents.[/release] basically I get the numbers 1-20 on a sheet, and I have to do these problems. FACEPUNCH! I'M AT A LOSS. help appreciated ;p <3

I failed algebra 2...Retaking it in my Junior year now...So...Can't help ya I'm afraid.
1 = (((9/9)^9)^9)^9 2 = (9/9)^9+(9/9) 3 = sqrt(9)*(9/9)*(9/9) 4 = sqrt(9)+(9/9)*(9/9) 5 = sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)-(9/9)^9 6 = sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)*(9/9)^9 7 = sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)+(9/9)^9 8 = sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)-(9/9) 9 = sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)*(9/9) 10= sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)+sqrt(9)+(9/9) 11= 9+sqrt(9)-(9/9)^9 12= 9+sqrt(9)*(9/9)^9 13= 9+sqrt(9)+(9/9)^9 14= 9+9-sqrt(9)-(9/9) 15= 9+9-sqrt(9)*(9/9) 16= 9+9-sqrt(9)+(9/9) 17= 9+9-(9/9)^9 18= 9+9*(9/9)^9 19= 9+9+(9/9)^9 20= 9+9+sqrt(9)-(9/9) that was fun. oh by the way, sqrt means square root of whats inside the ( ).
thanks bro is the ^ a factorial?
thanks bro is the ^ a factorial?
^ is power, i.e. 4^2 is 4 squared. FYI factorial is written ! and it works like this: 4! = 4*3*2*1
X equals -B plus or minus the square root of B squared minus 4AC over 2A, if that helps.
Whoa, my Algebra II was nothing like that. I'm in math for college readiness, and it's so easy. I loved Algebra II though, I guess my assignments were just a bit different.
X equals -B plus or minus the square root of B squared minus 4AC over 2A, if that helps.
where is that 2nd degree polynomial?
seriously x = negative b plus of minus square root squared 4 a c all over twoA [editline]03:26AM[/editline] if you sing it to round round the merrygo bush it helps to memorize it
I'm in algebra II and I don't know how to do that. North Carolina education fuck yeah!
Common guys... it really isn't difficult. Just use 9/9=1 and sqrt(9)= 3 to make all the numbers.
