I haven't been following hardware at all recently so I am completely lost on whats the best for it's value video card on the market.
This things needs to be able to assist me in maxing out Battlefield 3 etc.
My current setup is as follows:
CPU: i5 2500k
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Video: 9800GTX
My power supply is a pretty nice 700w, I would have to open her up and take a look at what brand specifically or the amperage of the 12+ rails.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

After doing a little of my own research I have found that the GTX 570 would be the best card I could grab other than the GTX 580. Can somebody validate or argue that?
How does ATI fair? I have always been an nVidia person but it doesn't matter.
570 is a pretty damn good card.
Anything above the 570 you're paying out the ass for little performance boost.
For video cards I would suggest 6850 < 6870 < 560 Ti < 570 < 6950/6970 SLI < 6990 < 590, with anything above the 570 pretty much overkill.
In terms of the upgrade, what kind of improvements will be made framerate wise. Is the 570 a good card for 1920x1080 such resolutions for gaming (BF3) based on statistics we do have
It's good yeah.
Should max out BF3 decently.

But "BF3 can't run on any computers today" ?

Well it's running at about 18fps highest settings for me right now.

1. Only 30 FPS and above count as playable in these kind of benchmarks
2. Did i miss something, how are you playing bf3?
I have an i5 2500k and 570, ran BF3 just fine on highest settings available.
At 1920x1080.
My comment was just a joke as Satanix quoted it as relevant once, ofcourse people will be able
to max BF3, I could play it on the highest in the alpha on a 6870 being bottlenecked by a dual core.
I thought they said no computer could max it today, because they put like no limit on the amount of shadow detail you can have or something?
