Some of you may remember me making a thread about my band a couple of years ago and then not updating for ages. Well we're back. And we have almost an album this time. This is my band, Artificial Night. We play progressive rock with lots of metal influences. Our major influences would have to be Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Riverside and Dream Theater. I'm the lead singer and one of the guitarists. And occasional flautist. We've had a pretty slow start, we formed in 2008, changed bassists half a year later, recorded our first demo track in 2009, recorded another track in 2011, and then took last year to write an album, which we're currently finishing up recording for. Overture This is a preliminary mix of the first track of our album, it's the overture for an extended song suite we've written to open the album (which follows a concept) Intermelocity This is a long instrumental that our bassist wrote before joining the band that we then re-arranged and added a cover of Razor's Edge by Dream Theater to as an ending. There's also a video of us recording this and just generally dicking around. Liquid Kitten/Medicated This is a demo recording from a couple of years ago of the 2nd and 3rd parts of the song suite, entitled Liquid Kitten and Medicated. It's not really representative of what we're capable of now, but it's still our general sound. There's also a youtube channel with a few live performances, several "studio updates" from our recent album recording sessions and a few embarrassing videos of us acting like idiots. Leave comments and criticism if you can be bothered, and if you are so inclined, feel free to spread the word or like our Facebook page (www.facebook.com\ArtificialNight) or whatever it is you do to show support. Cheers.
