I have had a look around but thought it would be best to ask people with experience, I havn't had anti virus for about 2 years and had been ok till last night when I had the biggest virus attack ever. I want some AV which will perform well run on windows 7, very good at stoping and destroying viruses and doesn't take too much resources to run as I use my computer for gaming and creating a lot of content for games/videos/graphics. Would be very greatful for suggestions and please give me a reason why you think your choice is best. EDIT: Sorry!! forgot to mention, FREE would be a lot better.
Panda cloud antivirus. :buddy: http://www.cloudantivirus.com/en/ Watch video for info.
Norton 360
Norton 360
Hahahaha, no. MBam and AVG is what I use. Pretty good at keeping shit away.
Forgot to mention free is better as I don't grow money out of my head.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a pretty badass free AV, all it requires is a valid WGA. Why should you use it? Well; It's very lightweight It's basically invisible (you won't notice it running 99% of the time) It hasn't failed me yet Very easy to setup and updates are quiet Just do it.
Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty small and nice.
Avast! Antivirus.
another vote for security essentials here, got it running on 3 systems and not one problem
Microsoft Security Essentials
Thanks for the help. I got Essentials and it seems ok.
We're going to have this thread every week now?
Why not just have a thread that lists a bunch of different antivirus programs and the pros and cons associated with each one?
Avira Antivirus http://www.free-av.com/ Excellent protection, free, and is fast and reliable.
Avast! 5. It's the bee's knees.

Microsoft Security Essentials If, for some reason, you want something else then you should choose either Avast! or Avira Antivirus. Do not use AVG, Norton, or any other crappy AV.
avast! [editline]12:42AM[/editline] got it running on 6+ computers all nicely.
I'm running AVG. Since when did everyone start hating it? :(
Jesus christ, don't people get tired of answering the same damn question every single day. There is at LEAST one of these threads a day. [editline]07:46PM[/editline]
We're going to have this thread every week now?
Seems like every day.
Avira most definitely!

What's wrong with Norton?
Im running AVAST! Although every time I start the computer I get some girl saying "Virus database has been updated!" with one of the most annoying accents in the world. Other than that, its great!
