As long as we get something like Black Ops 2's campaign I might buy it later in the year. 'Till then, fuck it.
I really want to get BOPS2 but its still too damn expensive for how old it is.
BO2's campaign was the only one I played through more than once, which says a lot for a CoD game.
Cinematic ante
No please stop it. I want to play games, not watch them. I dont want "the cinematic experience" and if I did I'd go watch a fucking movie.
Cinematic Experience might as well just be called the forced Cutscene with QTE experience.
ahh
exactly what i want for CoD
cinematics
go get em tiger
I hope we get Snoop Dogg DLC.
It's too late. Nothing you say now will unshit the Call of Duty series. Show us that you can release a good game and not what feels like a cheap reskin almost every time and I think you might be able to pull this up from the total nosedive it's in

See: Every Treyarch game past CoD3.
World at War, I'll admit, was enjoyable at the time, Modern Warfare 2 is when it really started to get fishy for me. Then by BO I knew that zombies was going to be run so hard into the ground it'd probably come out of the other side of the earth

But Black Ops was terrible.

But this is a next gen game.
Considering the last Call of Duty I played was MW2, this seems like a good game to me.
Actually hyped about this one, haven't bought a single CoD game since Black Ops and Sledgehammer looks like they know what they're doing as far as science fiction action games go (the CEO/COO both worked on Dead Space).

Black Ops was the best one since CoD4, what are you on

Cinematic games are great. You're still playing a game, bud. "Cinematic" doesn't even imply what you're implying it implies.
It's CoD though, so I might buy it for 75% off but it's also CoD so that means I won't.
Whatever. It's still CoD, and it's still catering specifically to the lowest common denominator of brogamer. Boring.

COD4 was the last one for me. Never really liked zombies, and never really play single player stuff except for RPG's. I tried the later Treyarch games with my brother since he likes them, but I could never play for more than 20 minutes.
The upgrade to "cinematics" are likely due in no small part to advancements in the game's engine. From Wikipedia:
In an EDGE magazine interview, Michael Condrey confirmed that the majority of Advanced Warfare's engine has been built from scratch. He stated that although there are lines of the old code left, there is new rendering, animation, physics and audio systems. This is the first Call of Duty since Call of Duty 2 that has used a new engine
Apparently this game had a three-year development cycle as well.

Now on the IW 4.1 engine?
Only 1 protagonist? I always liked how CoD switched to different sides of a war or story with two protagonists. Boooooo.
Black Ops was the best one since CoD4, what are you on
Black Ops was the fucking epitome of "cinematic" hand holding gameplay. It barely felt like I was even playing it. Even Ghosts had more interaction.

Then don't play Call of Duty and play a more gameplay oriented title ?

So did Call of Duty 4, it was basically one big corridor with an arena or two thrown in for good measure.
Again, call of duty has always been cinematic, if that's not your brand of games you can always play the hundreds of other games on the market that are not cinematic.

The difference is that CoD4 actually let you play it for extended periods of time. Hell, there was even a level that let you complete a bunch of objectives in any order you wanted. In Blops, I felt less like a player and more like an actor in a movie, constantly being dragged by the nose to act out a bunch of scenes in exactly the right way to continue the story. If CoD4 is one big corridor with a few arenas, Blops is a bunch of small corridors connected by doors that slam in your face every few minutes.
I work in an office that deals with this game, I'm allowed to say absolutely nothing as far as any details go, but to be honest, it looks like the most interesting entries in the game thus far in both single and multiplayer.
Am I the only one that's quite excited for this?
People have asked for them to do something different for years and now they're actually trying to mix things up a little, people are still slating them.
Yes, it'll have the same fundamentals as a CoD game but I love the Elysium look it's got going on. Won't be a day 1 purchase, but I'll definitely get it at some point
