We're going to see a lot of bland on-rails shooters for a while, arent we?

It's the bandwagon effect, which is unfortunate. A lot of Dev's seem to have this strange belief that just because their game is going to have VR support means it's going to somehow not be awful, in fact VR is going to make it ultra edgy and Revolutionary.
This line of thinking is stupid and sad because A lot of launch VR titles are going to be shit and it's only going to hurt VR and what few good games we will get, because it will paint the idea that 'All VR games are shit'.
Even with the shit ones, they'll be some gems.
Games like E:D play pretty well with it, even though I only used the DK-1. And I'd prefer that.
From what I've seen there are only a few clueless devs just tagging on 'Oculus Rift' support without fully realizing what that'd entail. Most folks seem to understand just fine that VR brings a new rule-set to the table, and are designing their games around that.
I don't know if I completely agree with what he's saying. even the VR mod for GTA V is pretty interesting and brings something new to that game. if a game like Chivalry for example was to add VR support, I think that could be very successful and worthwhile provided it was done right.
Is the quoted text verbatim from a written source? Normally I don't comment on spelling/grammar issues, but there are enough problems in the quoted text of this piece to make it distracting. - learnt, it's, music', missing commas and broken sentences, etc. If it is, it might help to throw a couple of [sic]s in there.
Anyway, yeah, I think it'll take some time to see VR mature. There will be a few good games that use it well and there will be a lot of games that looked good on paper or are using it as a gimmick. The key to VR's success lies in if survives long enough for its products to move out of the 'early failure' stage, and it's going to need some top notch experiences out of the gate to carry it to that point.
I think we're gonna see growing pains like we did in the 90s when 3d gaming was a new thing. People are so used to the old way that the first generation or so will suck as people try to adapt the old ways to the new and solve all the new problems that arise.
