I'm going to be ordering in about an hour and I wanted to see what other people thought about this I need a new computer for work and games, my last build uses a shitty CRT and has an Intel Pentium 4 I'm going to use this build for rendering and graphics, gaming too. The total comes to around $1900
Bigger power supply?
Do you really need 8gb of ram?
Do you really need 8gb of ram?
Yes I agree 4GB is perfect.
Do you really need 8gb of ram?
I guess he has an unnecessary amount of ram
Do you really need 8gb of ram?
he said he was going to be doing rendering
I would swap out the 5850 for a 6870 or a GTX 470 [editline]7th november 2010[/editline] Also why don't you get just one 1TB HDD? It would be like $25 cheaper, and if you really want to split it into 500GB then just partition it or something
Also, straight off the bat into watercooling it seems? :ohdear:

The only thing i'd change is the GPU to a 6870, and maybe a higher PSU (750W) for future upgrades.
Well it looks like a decent build, but I'm not sure if you need the USB hub. Also, I have no idea about the case, but I also used a relatively no-name case. And your power supply might be a little low. CPU and RAM are good for rendering, I know firsthand how much that takes. GPU could use a boost, however, as said above.
in the end I've ended up going with the 6870 (here) and a 700w PSU (here) in the future I'm hoping to buy another 6870 when it's needed
Have you bought it yet? If so change to an i7 860/70 and a 1156 socket motherboard, it'll be a little bit more but definitely worth it [editline]9th November 2010[/editline] Also get this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112269&cm_re=li_lian-_-11-112-269-_-Product And this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207002&cm_re=xfx_650-_-17-207-002-_-Product
