But Slitherine's game's are shit I have no idea how or where they're pulling phrases like "AWARD WINNING" and they even had the balls to come out and say this:
Panzer Corps Wehrmacht is a brand new turn-based strategy game that reinvents a classic genre.
I wouldn't play either game even if it meant I'd be able to buy a new triple A quality game after. And that's saying something.

I bet you just looked at the game and said "I HAVE ADD AND MY ATTENTION SPAN IS THAT OF A FUCKING RETARD, IT MUST BE SHIT" they're hard strategy games, and if you don't like it because of what it is then fuck off.
Tabletop warhammer 40k on PC please then.
Vassal40k is so close to being my favorite game, all they need to do is add some shit that makes the rules less cumbersome. It'd be hard to fuck up Tabletop 40k if a studio makes it. Of course, that's implying that Games Workshop would ever let somebody make a PC version of the tabletop. They'd have to sell it for $500 or Railworks it up if they want the same money they get from miniatures.

I play Total War games, Men of War, Supreme Commander and as of late, Civilization V, which obviously shares characteristics with "Panzer Corps." If you can name a popular RTS that came out post 2000 I've probably played it. An exception to this is Battlezone I which I maintain is one of the greatest idea's for a game anyone has ever had. I regularly make it obvious in the 40k thread that I play competitively on tabletop often. With my favourite RTS games I always end up playing on the hardest difficulty at some point. I play a lot of strategy games and difficulty is never anything to dissuade me from buying a game. You automatically made the assumption I don't like Panzer Corps as though I am too "casual", though you don't say it. That is wrong. So you know what, you can kindly shove your elitist assertions in the same place where right now I can imagine your head to be. I don't like the fact that the visuals wouldn't look any worse if the battlefield and units were represented by solid pieces of shit. The visual effects are so bad they're hilarious. Planes that stop in front of opposing "pieces" to stay static and unleash 3 rapidly appearing and repeating gunshot images that most likely either came from the internet or were made in photoshop. I doubt its as in depth as most TBS games purely portrayed in 2D, and yet even they take a shit on the visuals of this game by looking aesthetically decent in interface and design. I couldn't give a fuck about emulating old games for Nostalgia either. So basically you've got a complicated game of hexagonal chess. That they have the guts to charge £28 for it absolutely baffles me. For a 2D top down game. This is while modern games with modern graphics and just as if not exceedingly fun gameplay are cheaper or on sale frequently. So to conclude. For reasons that can be found in the RPS comments, mirroring my own opinion, GW is not going to create 40k tabletop for computers. The vacuum that would cause would lose them money as people would realize they no longer have to suffer their outrageous prices just to play the game. So that means there's probably going to be new gameplay mechanics that don't resemble the tabletop game at all for a 2D board style with sprites look with Slitherine's trademark terrible graphics and art. I think I'll pass.
