A Mississippi sheriff's department is refuting claims by the campaign of a challenger in a hotly contested Senate primary here that three staffers associated with the campaign were let into the Hinds County Courthouse in Jackson, Miss., by "uniformed personnel" sometime after election officials had closed the building and gone home from counting votes early Wednesday morning.
Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman Othor Cain said the incident is under investigation as officials try to figure out how Janis Lane, Scott Brewster and Rob Chambers entered the courthouse. They were inside until about 3:45 a.m., Cain said.
"There are conflicting stories from the three of them, which began to raise the red flag, and we're trying to get to the bottom of it," Cain said Wednesday. "No official charges have been filed at this point, but we don't know where the investigation will lead us."
"It's important to note that Janis Lane's story and the other officials' stories continue to change through the investigation," he said. "They changed within five minutes, which caused us to be even more deliberate and determined to find out what was going on."
For anyone who is curious, This isn't the first time that something like this has happen. In the past few weeks, Thad Cochan's mother was photographed by people from the Tea Party including a lawyer that supports the Tea Party and a coach from a local school (His mother is in a nursing home might i add) I happen to live down the block from this loony. He's extremely rude and racist to people while claiming he's a "family" person.
Electioneering ftw!
Where's the source?
District 1 Supervisor Robert Graham said there's absolutely no reason the three McDaniel staffers should have been inside the courthouse at that hour.
"There is not a circumstance where any individual that doesn't work for the county should be in a county building not accompanied by a county employee after hours," Graham said. "Specifically, not accompanied by an election commissioner on election night. If you're in the building and you have to do with elections, you should be with a commissioner."
Former Gov. Haley Barbour referenced recent election controversy in which conservative blogger Clayton Kelly allegedly went uninvited into a nursing home and took photos of Cochran's bedridden wife at the direction of three other Tea Party members.
"The McDaniel campaign, they seem to always be on the wrong side of a door," said former Gov. Haley Barbour. "Have you ever heard of a group of people who were in places they weren't supposed to be more often?"
The McDaniel campaign issued a statement late Wednesday deflecting the situation as an attack by Perry, who they accuse of being a close Cochran supporter, and stating that the three got in when they were directed to an open door by "uniformed personnel."
That seems a little too fast of an investigation for suspected election tampering.

Sounds like there wasn't much they could do even if they wanted to except steal some pencils or pens. Have to ask what they had intended though. How fucking retarded do you have to be to get yourself locked inside a courthouse?

Well, this IS the Tea Party we're dealing with here.

The actual votes were probably in a safe or something locked up so coupled with quick checks and probably security can footage I doubt that they could really charge them with anything if they couldn't prove they broke in. Still they are walking on some thin as fuck ice on a hot Mississippi day, if they try something like this again there will be a public backlash

Also the GOP doesn't take kindly to voter fraud (though they do seem to support voting shenanigans)
