[editline]6th November 2012[/editline] K I got it working in Fedora and it can install and run Dungeons of Dredmor so I assume all of them work.

God dammit, they made it just shut down if you aren't a beta user. I just want to use fucking Steam for Linux, jesus.
Read my post, jesus.
It shuts down immediately jesus
It shuts down immediately jesus
Then that's your issue; if you're not using Ubuntu you could probably have dependency issues. Nothing to do with the fact that you're not in the beta.
Then that's your issue; if you're not using Ubuntu you could probably have dependency issues. Nothing to do with the fact that you're not in the beta.
I am using Ubuntu.
their next update should be making the ui not terrible and slow...
I am using Ubuntu.
Do you mean it closes down before you even login? Because you seem to be the only one having this issue; only thing I can think of is dependency issues. [editline]6th November 2012[/editline]
their next update should be making the ui not terrible and slow...
Update your graphics drivers.

The TF2 download always seems to stop because the servers are too busy to handle my request :s

My point was that Valve prioritizes pushing steam for linux over fixing problems in pre-existing versions of steam. Hell, I can't even use Big Picture mode because it crashes my video card.
