I tried to install W7 x64 from a flash drive, but it froze at "completing installation", so I finally just shut it down after a few hours. Unfortunately now when i start, it says setup resuming or something, then
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected . Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.
It then restarts, and gets the same message again.
The problem is I can't finish this installation, nor can I find a way to install it again from the start.
Set your CDROM Drive to boot first, make sure that the Windows 7 disc is in, and boot from the disc, reformat the hard drive, and install Windows 7 again
I don't have a CD drive, hence the installing from a flash drive.
Whoops, Set that to boot first then
For some reason I can't boot from it. I made it using the normal W7 usb/dvd tool. and installing works fine as long as you start the installation from windows by opening the flash drive and clicking setup. (Which I can no longer do)
Setting it to boot first just causes the computer to freeze at the screen where you can choose to enter BIOS.
edit:got around this using f8
Repairing installation now.
Repaired, same problem.
At least reformatting and re installing is an option now. I'll give that a try.
Worked fine this time. Thanks.
