• Weird noise coming from computer? (Not HDD)

Hey guys, recently there has been this weird noise coming from my computer. I can't seem to trigger it as it's random. It sounds a bit like the noises an angry Koala makes but I live in Florida and that wouldn't make sense for a Koala to be in my computer. I know this one isn't my hard drive because I had a performance monitor up when it happened to go off, and my drives were only at 1% usage. Does anyone know what else could make a groaning noise? Fan? Capacitor? Specs: Q8400 nForce 730i Radeon 6850 6GB DDR2 Two sata drives, one 750gb, and one 1.5 TB. Antec NeoEco 630 I think that's all. Thanks!
Dust in a fan maybe? Clean the CPU fan. OR it could be the PSU.
I don't see any visual dust, but there may be some actually in it. I'll take a look before I go to bed. And I hope to god it's not the PSU.
Record the noise.
Check all the heatsinks and fans. I had a similar problem, it was the PSU fan screaming at me so I had to replace it..
yeah if it's a low growling noise then i'd say it's a ball bearing/brush on the fans screaming in its death throes. check in your BIOS to see if there is any info on the RPM of the fans installed and check your voltages to be sure everything is cool there. Also just physically feel around in the case to see if anything is especially hot and that might help you to isolate the problem.
