definitely
Bring on the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Damn, I was hoping for some actual information.
Judging by that artwork, I'd say this takes place in France? Then again considering the end of Serious Sam 3...

It's probably a prequel to the prequel or alternate reality where Sirius occupies Earth[sp]rather than destroying it[/sp] But I wonder if they're ever going to continue the storyline and I also wonder if they even consider Serious Sam 2 to be canon because it's considered so far to be the worst game in the series and I have to agree although it's the first Serious Sam game I've ever played, but after playing the originals, it just doesn't feel right.
SS2 is shit, FE NE and BFE fucking rule
I think the mistake they made with SS2 was to go all the way into the direction of comedy, and as such dropping the severity of the situation.
I just couldn't take the game seriously anymore after the first chapter. The entire story started feeling stupid, especially with all those ridiculous cutscenes that stood in a large contrast to the actual fighting.
And the ending was just the icing on the cake. Made everything completely pointless
I hope they remain with the setting of First Encounter, Second Encounter (to a lesser extent) and BFE, where Sam is the only real comedic factor, apart from the occasional Easter Egg.
There's just something appealing about a guy who doesn't take the threats in his world seriously (ironically so) and fights on, whereas any other person would be absolutely left without any hope and would probably just give up.
Assuming the picture in the article isn't fake, it could be a prequel to BFE, showcasing the beginning of the downfall. In any case, I'm excited.

Don't screw it up, Croteam.

The picture was first seen at the end of a making of documentary, so it's definitely real.
Also, I'm pretty sure they won't fuck this up. Judging by the Jewel of the Nile DLC, as well as that AMA they did a while back, they've learned some lessons since Serious Sam 3.
Serious Sam is the best shit. Old school "shoot everything that moves".
They announced sam 4 will come out on their humble bundle last year glad its coming out this year anyways I hope it takes place in france or at least continents. Maybe the white house ?
SS3 was a childhood favorite, and BFE was just awesome.

This isn't Sam.
Sam's hair is always gelled enough to stay up running at Sonic-speeds.
Meanwhile, the Duke Nukem franchise is being hogged up by Gearbox and there will never be a sequel in the foreseen future

Well now his hair can sway and move around while running at sonic speeds now can it?
I think we're missing the most important part of that image:
Sam has a beard now.
I can't handle this.

He seems to be older than he was in BFE as well.
I wonder how they're going to continue the storyline if they ever decide to make a true sequel, are they going to keep SS2 in the storyline and start where it left off or are they going to ignore SS2's existence and restart from where TSE ended?
That image is real, it was on the Serious Sam humble bundle, which helped fund this game.

That would be the best case scenario. Or better yet, they could somehow integrate SS2 into some totally pointless part of the canon. They could say that Sam found some really bad alien drugs in that rocket he got into at the end of TSE.
SS2 is what I could consider a filler game. And judging by Sam looking older and Earth being intact in the art unless the final game doesn't reflect it, my wild guess is that he might've timewarped back to the invasion on Earth to kick some alien ass before things turned unstoppably one-sided against humanity. I wouldn't mind some more exotic environments than brown and tan with some gray or green strewn about, but so long as the pacing really does improve from Serious Sam 3, i'll probably get 4.
Personally, I'm going to pre-order Serious Sam 4 the moment it becomes available. I have no doubt that it is going to be awesome, because now that Serious Sam 3 gave them an idea of what they're already good at and what they should fix, as well as serving as Sam's initial comeback, the series can finally move on. Granted, it will probably be another prequel, but at least it won't be in fucking Egypt.
GET READY FOR MORE KLEERS
I can hear the clopping already

I think Beard Physics 1.0 will revolutionize this industry.
I hope the voice actor for Sam has an older voice now, to fit with his new image.

Figuring out the perfect timing to dodge and sledgehammer them into the ground was the most satisfying thing
I hope they get rid of the damn spider enemies this time.
Fuck I hated them.
I liked SS2. I thought it tried too hard to be funny but in the end the gameplay mattered to me the most, and it felt like any other SS game. It was pretty fun.
The old SS:FE and SS:SE games stay my favorite though, so I hope SS4 looks/plays similarly to those two.
semi-offtopic: but imo the melee button was my least favorite part of SS3, especially as doing that is like 10x easier than shooting them down (like kicking those soldiers or ripping spiders' heads off)
well, it might've been just the scripted feel of it.

I agree, Serious Sam 2 isn't that bad. It's just way too cartoony and soft. It gets better later on when you have more weapons.
