probably going to be the silent hill equivalent of those terrible resident evil movies.
I really liked the Silent Hill movie to be honest. I don't like that Vincent is an actual protagonist now instead of the deranged weirdo in the game but we'll see how they pull that off.
I hope they at least got Akira to score some new music for this one, though.
First one wasn't bad. Seems like they are basing the story off 3.

Akira is listed as one of two composers for the film. The other being Jeff Danna who also co-composed the last movie.
Bleh.
I think it would have made more sense to do Silent Hill 2. Sean Bean could be James/Harry meshed into one while he looks for his wife who's calling out to him from Silent Hill, but then the shit from the game happens.
Those two actors look like they belong in a Uwe Boll movie not in Silent Hill.
this movie is going to suck
just let silent hill die, there's only been one decent silenthill game since team silent broke up (out of 5)
Spoiler Alert : Sean Bean dies.

i think decent is a bit of an understatement

It would make a lot of fuckin sense to do 2 because:
-It was it's own story, not bogged down with the religious cult crap.
-The way the original silent hill movie ended had no possible way for the third game's story to even happen.
-They'd get to use pyramid head properly, not as a fuckin cameo "look at us, we're totally silent hill guys" kinda shit
-Much more atmospheric, which visuals seemed to be all the first movie did right
But hollywood isn't about making sense, it's about making money. This shit sells well to females, and so they wanted to make the story with the female lead, not the male one. I mean they already got rid of Harry from the original story for no other reason but that alone.

I think decent is quite generous. Assuming we're talking about homecoming. If we're talking about shattered memories, boy do I have a rant for you...

I think Downpour is at least as good as 4, if not better. Shattered Memories wasn't terribly good, but it tried to do things differently. Some things worked, others didn't.

I would say it was a better game. 4 sucked as a game. It didn't have puzzles, it made you backtrack through all the levels, it had easy enemies with clunky combat and that weird inventory system. I would certainly not say it beat it in design though. 4 is hated as a game but it still had the atmosphere, it still had the suspenseful build up of fear as opposed to cheap jumps, it still had a really good story, and the room parts turning your safe haven hostile at you I thought was a really memorable thing. Downpour can't even give me one decent monster, instead we just get generic zombies as our main villains of the day.
The cop car was pretty cheap, too.
i respect shattered memories because it tried something different, instead of the garbage that tries to imitate (homecoming, downpour)
also how do you mess up a hd collection

i'm personally not fond of shattered memories, but i don't think anyone can try and say it's worse than homecoming

i am talking about shattered memories, which apart from 4 is easily my favorite of the series. i would very much like to hear your rant on disliking the game, because the only place i can fault it is the running scenes (specifically at the school and hospital)
The monsters in Downpour are moderately better than the kids in Shattered Memories. The bland kids made sense, but they were just so bland. The psycho shit with the monsters was interesting, but it didn't make me like the monsters any more.
I kind of liked the first movie, I never thought it was going to have a sequel. I'll probably go see it.
The movie did the series a disservice, and the way they are borrowing names from the games but giving them to completely separate characters has always annoyed the hell out of me. That said, I'm looking forward to this because I thought the first one was actually pretty good despite the obvious Video Game Movie issues befalling it.

The actor on the left is Kit Harrington who plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. He definitely doesn't belong in any movie affiliated with Boll.
