NFL investigating Patriots for possible deflation of footballs
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The NFL is looking into whether footballs used in the Patriots’ 45-7 win over the Colts in Sunday's AFC Championship game were not fully inflated.
NFL spokesman Michael Signora confirmed in an email to Newsday on Monday morning that the matter is being investigated. Signora declined to offer further details about the matter.
The Patriots qualified for their sixth Super Bowl appearance and will face the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1 in Phoenix. The result of the game is expected to stand, but the Patriots could face a fine or draft-choice forfeiture if it is determined they altered the inflation of the footballs.
Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com first reported that the league would investigate the possibility that at least some of the Patriots' footballs used in the game were not fully inflated as a way to make throwing the ball easier in the rain that persisted through most of the game.
Kravitz also said that if the Patriots are found to have improperly inflated the footballs, they could have draft picks taken away. Kravitz also reported that on-field officials removed one football from the game to have it checked.
It is unclear as to where a complaint originated.
I still remember when the Patriots had spied on the Packers and Jets.
This sounds sort of BS
wouldn't they notice during the game instead of after they were destroyed

From what I read the refs actually took a ball out of play to weigh it at one point.

This is what OP's quote says about it;

Oh come on, say it ain't so, Pats

From Kravitz's twitter

And this from this morning

reportedly they're equipping the investigators with cardboard boxes and CQC training

haha, Patriots have soft balls

They must have thought the patriot act applied to them.
Don't worry folks, they still lost to the Buffalo Bills! Clearly, the Patriots are a shadow of their former selves.
What a shit super bowl this year.
Green Bay should have won. Fuck the Seahawks.
And Colts+Patriots both can go fuck themselves.
they pulled one ball out during the third quarter; this happens almost routinely EVERY playoffs and has nothing to do with cheating. they're always checking balls. for the record, the Pats game was played in sub-freezing temperatures while a pounding freezing rain fell for the entire length of regulation. i wouldn't be surprised if some of the balls lost air sitting on the sidelines, unless they had them in some kind of pressure cooker until they needed them

I used to be a Bears fan until this season.
At that point I said fuck it and rooted for the Colts (Since I live in Indiana) and Green Bay, which is technically the Bears' "arch-enemy" but that whole rivalry is a joke anyways; I always respected Green Bay and always got respect from their fans, so it was fine and all.
Anything would be better than the Patriots.
Wouldn't doing anything to the ball effect BOTH teams as they're using the same ball?
Wouldn't doing anything to the ball effect BOTH teams as they're using the same ball?
Each team has a set of balls that only they use on their sidelines
I grew up near5 Boston so I've always been a Red Sox / Pats fan. Both teams used to super super suck in the 90s so it was great when they started to wreck shit, I've just lost all interest. I don't even know any of the players anymore but it's pretty crazy that Brady is still playing
This shit doesn't really add up though, while the Pats have done weird things in the past I don't think they'd outright cheat, especially in a game where they were dominating

Really?
I learned something today.
as a packer fan this was the worst conference championship weekend ever
I want the Patriots to lose just so I can still state the fact that they haven't won it all since spygate. Also cuz Tom Brady is a little bitch.

The jealousy is strong here
Go pats
If the Pats don't go to the Super Bowl this year I'll be very upset.

Don't talk shit about Brady.

Someone's a sore loser
Oh yeah I forgot that pats fans are literally everywhere. The bandwagon is strong here
I don't get the bandwagon sports thing. If anything, it makes sense. Either you're located near the team you root for, or you were introduced to the sport by someone who roots for X.

Sorry Virginia doesn't have a pro Football team. Who the fuck else should I like, the Goddamn Raiders?

We still call the redskins our team, even though they suck.

You have three franchises to the north of you.
Redskins, Ravens and the Patriots.

I can understand Pats hate but the Colts? Are you from Baltimore or something
