Oregon State Legislature have uploaded a video onto youtube that shows them secretly slipping lyrics of Rick Astley's 1987 hit 'Never Gonna Give You Up' into their speeches. Jefferson Smith, the Democratic Representative for Portland, came up with the idea. He tells BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast about 'Rickrolling'.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13068159
Well that's something new for once.
How fucking sad.
at least they are trying to be with the young crowd but are failing miserably.
-nvm-
Well I'm glad they're doing something productive with their time, i guess
Hey, at least they're trying.
Were they bored or something?
at least they are trying to be with the young crowd but are failing miserably.
Or they WERE the 'young crowd' once. How long has the meme been around for?
He just wanted to tell them how he was feeling. He was thinking of a full commitment.
Yeah. They all just knew the game and wanted to play it.
Yeah. They all just knew the game and wanted to play it.
But he wanted to make them understand But they tell him they're too blind to see.
See young people of america we too are hip and with it ya dig
About 3 years late with that one
Guess they were just trying to show people how they roll.
I think it was really clever despite how late they are. They get a heart.
Rickrolling became unfunny once it hit facebook. :colbert: Same with Rebecca Black.
rebecca black was never funny kill yourself
Well CSPAN is boring so I can understand.
Dude, this is awesome.
Speaking of which, I haven't been rickrolled in at least a year or two, and I am happy for that one :colbert:
Saw this on the local news about 2 weeks ago. I face palmed pretty hard.
....Wow, am I the only one that thinks this is actually clever and funny?
Glad to see there's some humor in politics. Don't get me wrong, politics is a serious issue, but in this case I can't see them hurting anyone. I mean, it's not like they really pissed some of us off with the game.
....Wow, am I the only one that thinks this is actually clever and funny?
I did, but it didn't stop me from face palming.
I did, but it didn't stop me from face palming.
Oh I know, its just, the comments in this thread range from, "haha...that's old but still clever" to "Fucking assholes, can't do anything right as usual." As if they know that much about the internet :v:
It's still pretty funny.

Ha that's awesome, fair play to them, but they should still be focusing on getting laws and shit passed.
Saw this on artoftrolling.memebase.com days ago, but it is funny.
They're so hip and cool and stuck in some sort of time rift that's got them trapped in 2008!
