• Record sounds from Computer on Windows 7?

When I used to have Windows XP I remember I could record sounds from the computer using audacity or similar programs, but now with windows 7 I don't seem able to do so, is there anyway to make it so it can record sounds from my computer using Windows 7? (I don't mean holding a microphone up to my speakers.)
stereo mix
same as in vista.
What sound card do you have? There are certain programs that allow you to do this depending on the sound card.
I'm not familiar with sound cards, but I think I have Onboard 6 Channel High Definition Audio.
Record from stereo mix, if stereomix ain't there, do this: -I'll just assume this pretty much stayed the same since i don't want to boot up my Comp with Seven now.- Rightclick the speaker icon in your taskbar a.k.a. superbar, choose recording devices. Check if there really isn't stereomix, if not, right click on an empty space in that list and choose to display deactivated devices. Now, stereomix should appear there - greyed out. Right click and activate. That should do the trick actually.

Since it is onboard do you need my motherboard info? Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Model: M2N68
