Hey guys, I currently have a Cooler Master 212+ Evo with two CPU's attached to it, and I would like to have both fans at the same speed. Is it a smart idea to wire both of the fans to the header or should I do something like, soldering the 2nd fan's speed connector to the 1st fan and have the power running from another header such as SYS_FAN1. They both output 12v so it should be fine?
Thanks in advance
There are adapters available that power both off of the CPU fan connector so I imagine that's safe. If you're worried about it drawing too much power you could use. any other 12v power source.
You should be fine as long as the fans don't draw too many amps. IE. don't run delta fans on a fan header.
If you want to manually splice two fans together, you have to omit the sense wire from one of the fans. If they're PWM fans (4 wires instead of 3) then tie the two PWM wires together and omit one of the sense wires.
