Glad to hear The Division and Siege will (hopefully) be out this year or early next year. Ubisoft's major in-house releases over the past two years have comprised of rehashed tower climbing simulators and a janky racing game, so it'll be nice to play something a little more original.
The comment on the article gets it. Seven million sold to retailers. Assassins Creed as well. Can't help but think not all 10 million AC copies were sold to customers.

This is how sales are typically measured.

Yea I'm looking forwards to The Division. Hopefully they can pull it off.

I haven't been up to date with that one since the first trailer, does it have any features aside from open world TPS coop?
They've been talking a lot about making a not too serious sequel to this with a much more nonsensical theme and location similarly to Blood Dragon so I'm glad that it's selling well if that'll motivate them to release Blood Dragon 2

Not a lot of official information sadly, but a lot of stuff has been teased.

Only when the actual sales number is not good
i seriously hope they dont do a blood dragon 2
the first ended perfectly and the humor didn't outstay its welcome
if it had been any longer the whole xd 80s thing would have gotten very old very fast
I think the intention isn't to make a literal sequel to blood dragon, but another crazy nonserious extra game in the same vein. Maybe a Commando or Predator homage.
Only a matter of time before they turn it into an annual franchise.

No, it's actually how they are figured pretty much universally in the industry. Rockstar can brag about how many consumer sales GTA V had or whatever but at the conference calls they are still going to reference copies shipped.

Looks like I used the wrong game as an example http://time.com/3695297/grand-theft-auto-v/
Good game but I feel it rode off the success of FC3 way too much. It never really felt like its own game, more like a good expansion of FC3. Compared to the jump from FC1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 I was hoping for something different.
And the success of FC3 and 4 make me fear for the future of the franchise. Ubisoft is pretty great at making the same game with slight variations over and over. I honestly can't tell most assassin's creed games apart and I've completed every single one.

I think my biggest problem is they went for yet another cynical "Everyone is bad except you, the psychopathic murderer" storyline featuring yet another flamboyant antagonist that features everywhere except in the actual game. The gameplay was a solid revision of what worked in Far Cry 3 and to be fair, a lot worked in Far Cry 3 so I don't really hold that against them. I do wish coop was expanded to main story missions though. After playing Dying Light all the way through in coop I think FC5 should have it.
FC4 was a fun game. It deserves to sell well

No, no it's not. Marketing and conference calls do not save your company from collectors.
