I'm becoming bored with only playing scales and my band's music and I figured I'd try to cover a song or two.
Give me something with a little bit of a challenge, but not something overly complicated that the bassist from Dying Fetus would play (He's a bad ass).
Go!
Have you looked into songs by Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" albums?
I'm sure Cliff played a few things you'd find entertaining to learn.
The actual song Master of Puppets was one of the first things I ever learned.

It's definitely more fun than most songs on bass. I hate when the bass just copies the guitar, or it's just one note hit over and over again.
This song also sounds like it'd be fun to play, but it's not exactly metal. I wish I could find the tabs somewhere.

Yeah whoever said Steve Harris knows what the fuck's up.
Get some
Phantom of The Opera
Genghis Khan
Wrathchild
Alexander The Great
To Tame A Land
Invaders; and
Iron Maiden
all sick Iron Maiden bass songs.
The idiots are taking over - NOFX (They ain't metal...)

Listen to Rancid. 3 out of 4 of their songs have wicked crazy bass lines

Steve Harris is truly awesome. Powerslave has some really great bass, I'd recommend that if you think you're up to it.
Anything done by the band Rush...
Their bassist is weird but try YYZ, trust me, its hard to play!
And try Tom Sawyer
Edit:
Crap their classic rock, not metal
my bad...
oh yeahz is pellll baed to
Metallica with Cliff Burton(Kill Em' All, Master of Puppets, and Ride the Lightning) have great basslines. I like the bass for "Seek and Destroy" myself.
all that maiden mentioned but not The Trooper
I know it's not metal, but you could give Rush a try. Geddy Lee inspired alot of bassists, including the one in Iron Maiden.

and the first three metallica albums in general, but this one is famous for cliff's bass playing
