I have a 19" LCD Sony monitor and what every images that is on the screen gets "burned" into the monitor so you can see it when your not even on that, I haev had it on a low brightness setting and the desktop and wallpaper still seem to burn into the monitor so veiwing webpages it terrible with the view of my icons and wallpaper sunk into the lcd
Has anyone had this problem/know how to fix it?
Help would be very much appreciated
also what the hell is up with facepunch and all these fast cgi errors is bloody annoying
Actually, only CRT screens should do that. That's the actual pupose of screensavers.
But in no fucking way a properly functioning LCD screen would to that. It's probably broken or the crystaline shit is just old and can't work right anymore.
Is it an old monitor? Older LCDs had this problem, Plasmas and CRTs also do this.
Newer LCDs don't do this, If they do ask for a refund and get a better made one.

I dont think it is tha told, I was giving it from my ma's bf and he got it from someplace like pcworld a couple of eyars ago, I thought that Sony screens were decent, I was hoping to get the screen alive and kicking again so I could get a 2nd dual screen setup going
I found out it is a plasma flat screen,, just throwing this idea out there, but would running it at a different hz rate make any difference?

Thats all teh info I can get on it from a ebay sale of the same monitor
I have that happening slightly on one of my Dell 2005FPW 20.1" Monitors, it's very subtle and goes away but if I leave a window on for to long and move it I can see a faint outline of it for a few minutes. Eventually I'm going to upgrade both of mine to Dell 20" 1600x1200 Ultrasharps when I have some spare cash.
Make a txt file, empty, and full screen it. So it just burns the flat image in.

I oculd try that as a temp fix, I wonder if that would get rid of it for longer, ah and liek I asked before, would changing the refresh rate to 65/70/75 make any difference on the strain on the monitor?
Your screen aint a plasma, its a TFT. And no, that isn't normal. Im guessing its not in warrenty so there isnt much you can do about it other than getting a new monitor..
Temp fix is jscreenfix (google)
Plasma =/= LCD just as an fyi.
Ill try that jscreenfix and if not ill just grab a cheap 19" off ebay
