I bought a HDMI to DVI adapter today for my HIS 4870 1GB. It's by syba if that makes any difference to my topic at hand.
I have 2 displays:
Apple Cinema Display (1920 x 1200)
Acer Display (1680 x 1050)
Whenever I connect one of them to the adapter via DVI, there is no signal that is transmitted, even though the computer recognizes the names of them. I can see the display on control panel and in catalyst, but there is nothing on the screen...
I can't use VGA because it won't go to 1680 x 1050!! I bought this for the Acer screen but I decided to try it out on the Cinema Display once it didn't work on the Acer.
Any input is helpful, I've searched on google a little bit with no help.

You are using DVI cable?
I fixed it now, I had to forcibly push the HDMI adapter into the card, it wouldn't go all the way in.
