Fucking finally. Facebook is absolutely littered with links to fake brand products. I've sent in a couple of complaints because it's just ridiculous, and it's the same with Google. I always have a look at trustpilot just in case.
Slippery slope, and I agree with the idea, but I don't think there should be any court mandate. Search engines would have taken this on if they could have without censoring "innocent" results along with it.
It should not be the search engine owners job to manage stuff like this.

I disagree. When a company pays for Google to place ads in their names and top the lists when searched for, it's Google's job to make sure fake websites brandishing the counterfeit products of said company are not listed along with the results. Google is a company, they sell advertisements amongst other things, and they should make sure their product is proper.
I do agree that the search engine's owners shouldn't be the only ones handling this.
I hope they don't think they'll be able to get away with censoring anything else...
