Does windows 7 automatically set an application to run on the least-loaded core? or do I need to do that myself with the task manager "set affinity" option? I'm kind of curious if it would really help my fps increase a bit more if I set CSS to run on my third core ( my processor is a AMD Phenom x3 8600 2.3GHZ ). which always seems to have 0-10% load but my first 2 cores are usually at 10-20% load each.
The windows schedular will take care of it for you, so there shouldnt be a noticable change.
Ok, thanks dude. I'm not so busy tonight, so I may just try screwballing around, to check in practice.
Also turn on multi core rendering on in css if I am not mistakin css has multicore rendering.
AFAIK the only source games that have it are TF2 and L4D(1 for certain dunno about 2 but I doubt they'll have gone backwards)
L4D2 does have multicore rendering. Shit bluescreens me. v:downs:
that's what I said
^:downs: You said you're uncertain whether or not 2 has it. I said it does, and that it bluescreens me.
AFAIK the only source games that have it are TF2 and L4D1/2
Hmmm didn't know that.
^:downs: You said you're uncertain whether or not 2 has it. So what you said is redundant and bad reading. Rated bad reading.
