I recently got a septum piercing and have developed a cold as the title says so I assume you can see my problem; my nose has been running. Thing is I can't wipe my nose or blow it as it hurts like hell. It has also been drying on the horseshoe ring through it and then when that spins round even slightly that dried snot is being forced through that gap which hurts almost as much as getting it done in the first place.
I don't want to be picking my nose throughout the college day and I don't want to be cleaning it how I do in the morning and night (with a cotton bud) as these methods are not socially acceptable as you might imagine.
What on earth can I do?
Clean your nose with a cotton bud in the bathroom.
Septum piercings are fucking ugly.

I'm starting to think that this is the only option, but leaving class to clean it will result in alot of time being wasted. My colleagues will get pissed off with my sniffing if I don't though.

Helpful, thanks.
Call a sickie?
Just take it easy. Mine was pretty sore for a while as well. Turn the ring upwards so you can blow your nose easier. It'll sting, but it'll help keep snot away. Don't forget to clean with sea salt and warm water and/or H2Ocean afterwards, as well.
