Hello Facepunch, In-short, upScreen is a screen capture tool, very similar to Gyazo, with the difference that it uploads the screenshots to your host, via FTP. In latest version, 1.2.6 : - Window capturing added (capture any window by single-clicking on it) - Fixed problem with directories that have spaces not opening correctly on browser - Fixed: path not shown correctly in ‘Options’ window - Fixed: now checks if remote path used the last time still exists You can learn more about the features of this application from it's official page. Official page: http://sharpmindprojects.com/project/upscreen Download from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/upscreen PS: I know some of you are thinking: "yeah right, another information stealer". The application is open-source, so in that case, you can download the source files and check the code yourself. so, C&C?
lol version 123
lol version 123
I'll fix that in next version :buddy:
Looks like the base for a greatly useful program! Currently I use localhostruploadr. May be worth looking at it for ideas. If you had a way to use this with the "Right click > Send to > upScreen" option that would be awesome.

I am thinking of keeping this application simple, as simple as Gyazo is pretty much. I am working on another screen capturing tool at the moment, which will have much more features, something like zscreen, jing etc., but it's a whole other idea...
Nice, although there are still some bugs. It would be nice to have an alternate way of uploading/saving images though (posting or saving locally). Also it would be nice to have it upload to image hosting sites like imageshack, flickr, etc. Still, it's pretty sweet.

As for the uploading-to-image-hosts I would prefer to keep this application simple, as I mentioned above... I'll leave this kind of features for the project Im currently working on...
zScreen much?
zScreen much?
more like Gyazo, as I said... And please don't start the kind of "I'll stick to zScreen" replies...
more like Gyazo, as I said... And please don't start the kind of "I'll stick to zScreen" replies...
OK, but what does this offer that is different to zScreen? Why should I try it?
OK, but what does this offer that is different to zScreen? Why should I try it?
You can always watch the demo-video I posted, it's a minute long... In short: you run, select, get the link and you're done... It's an easy and fast to use capturing tool that uploads to your host... PS: Why do you compare everything to zScreen?

For the last time, this is not like zScreen. This is a tool to upload screenshots to your host, as fast as possible... That's the idea... It doesn't support uploading to image hosts, shortening the link etc, it's not meant to! If you've used gyazo in the past, you should get the purpose of this app... Comparing it to zScreen is not the smartest thing to do...
Does it autoselect windows etc like Jing does
I prefer Gyazo over ZScreen cause the latter takes an ungodly amount of RAM for what it does So thanks a lot for that app, I can use my own host now :D
Does it autoselect windows etc like Jing does
no, but the one Im working on now does, and I am thinking of adding that feature to upScreen as well... But now that I made this app, I use this instead and upload to my own host right away...
I prefer Gyazo over ZScreen cause the latter takes an ungodly amount of RAM for what it does So thanks a lot for that app, I can use my own host now :D
A whole 900Kb of RAM? What are you running, a P3 on 512MB of RAM or something?
A whole 900Kb of RAM? What are you running, a P3 on 512MB of RAM or something?
Mine only uses 35kb, but that's not the point...
If it had imgur support or even min.us I would use it
ClipUpload2 Greenshot I use those two, I prefer something sitting in my tray. zScreen is bloated with options and a bit buggy, imo.
If it had imgur support or even min.us I would use it
then wait for what Im working on at the moment, it'll definitely support imgur!
ClipUpload2 Greenshot I use those two, I prefer something sitting in my tray. zScreen is bloated with options and a bit buggy, imo.
zScreen is full of unnecessary stuff...
A whole 900Kb of RAM? What are you running, a P3 on 512MB of RAM or something?
ZScreen takes 40mb here, that's way too much for what it is
You can always watch the demo-video I posted, it's a minute long... In short: you run, select, get the link and you're done... What does this have as an improvement? I compare to zScreen because it's an similar product, with seemingly identical function.
But zScreen can already do exactly this? What does this have as an improvement? I compare to zScreen because it's an similar product, with seemingly identical function.
it's not the same thing, that's what I'm trying to explain to you... My app is simple and fast, you select the area you want and the other second you got a link to it, and it's on your host... ZScreen is full of unnecessary stuff that you won't ever need. I mean, do you ever use all that stuff it's got? It even has a Translator, god damn it!
So, this is zScreen minus loads of functionality?
Fuck this I'm done comparing my app to ZScreen, use whatever you like better... Did you even download to see the difference yourself?
Fuck this I'm done comparing my app to ZScreen, use whatever you like better... Did you even download to see the difference yourself?
No, because you didn't give me a reason to.
I'm gonna say that I like this app more than zScreen because it just does what I want and doesn't take forever to configure.
