Didn't include an optical drive, since you can salvage that from your current setup.
Did he say he wanted to salvage it?

Uhh yeah It'd be nice to have Windows 7. I can get the optical drive I have right now. Thanks for the help so far though. I could probably bump it a few hundred, as long as it doesn't go over $1000

Gave you a better GPU and Windows 7. Comes down to 895 USD.
I'd recommend getting the GTX 460 1 GB model for only 30$ more and OCing it.
I thought about the 460 aswell, but then I thought about higher power consumption and heat generation and was like, "Nah".
This is great. all the stuff you suggested comes up to $899 without S&H. I'll still have some time to make adjustments, but it's really good for right now. I can reduce the price further since I don't really need 1.5 tb of mem.
What? The GTX 460 runs 70C max load and uses the same power as a 5850.
It's also only 8.5" long compared to the 10" 5830.

I have been proven wrong.
OP; I'll change the build.

Done.
You now have a 500 GB HDD (Which is also faster than the 1,5 TB one) and a GTX 460.

What exactly would I do with this coupon? Do you know? Either way, it is better.

There's a serial on it. You enter the serial in Steam, and it'll get added to your account.
