"This device would work faster in a USB 2 port, click here to view all available ports." My computer "apparently" has usb 2 ports, why are they not acting like them, transfers are slow and i get this message. - could it be that they are in fact not USB 2, or am i missing drivers etc. Ta.
yer it must be drivers
Enter BIOS Check if there's anything about USB's and speed of usb's. Make sure it's set to Hi speed, and not True Speed, True Speed is much much slower.
Drivers should really have little impact.. the computer should be able to recognize between a USB2 and USB right away. Unless you finally upgraded to Win95 w/ USB support. Then you got another issue... I would check BIOS settings, or you could have a problem with the chipset drivers.
Alright, cheers.
So I take it one of our solutions worked?
So I take it one of our solutions worked?
Sorry, yea i was about to look when they decided it was time for a power cut, so i went to bed. I'll look now. :)
Try plugging it into the ports on the back rather than the front. I know that my back ones are USB2 and my front ones are not for some reason.
Yea, that seems to be my problem as well Disarray. To others, i looked in the Bios and couldn't find anything to do with what you siad, i found something to do with Shadow mode or something, if i remember correctly. Ah well. Thanks :)
