Gotta admit, I'm kinda curious to see the image.
Gotta admit, I'm kinda curious to see the image.
It's still up.
Unlike for the pictures in its StreetView service, there is no facility to report satellite images.
Because shit like this is rare and unlike streetview you don't know when Google snaps a satellite picture, mostly images from the Satellite is so blurry that you can't make out what it is in the first place
Gotta admit, I'm kinda curious to see the image.
http://goo.gl/maps/7w7uW If you have the new google maps this link doesn't take you to quite the right place
-snip- Please excuse me for posting this I just wanted to show people the image in question.
The Image in question: If it doesnt cause too much work/trouble for google and helps the family to cope with their son I think it's okay. Although I really dont see how a satellite image of what happened is offensive to the parents of the kid and its on the internet anyway so it will never vanish. I can't talk about this since I have never experienced something like this and I shouldn't be judging anybody. [editline]kj[/editline] Explain dumb ratings pls
You're posting a picture of a dead teenager, maybe not everyone wanted to see it.

Mention dumb ratings and you shall receive. Observe:

You get rushed with a wide assortment of emotions and thoughts "what if things were different that day?" "a while before that image was captured he was alive". Also it may always remain on the internet, but it's likely to be one of those things you won't find unless you are really looking for it.
You're posting a picture of a dead teenager, maybe not everyone wanted to see it.
You can barely see it.

No point in playing the net neutrality police over this

From Google's point of view I don't see why they would want to keep a picture of a dead guy on their mapping service
From Google's point of view I don't see why they would want to keep a picture of a dead guy on their mapping service
So his memory can live on forever.
You're posting a picture of a dead teenager, maybe not everyone wanted to see it.
oh no theres 4 whole pixels of him
There's probably images of more dead things on Google Maps
There's probably images of more dead things on Google Maps
Yeah it's not difficult to find a satellite image of a dead person, here's one.
oh no theres 4 whole pixels of him
It's still somewhat stupid to just post it here. No matter how many pixels, we know the context and as such it's not a really light image you should just go post around.
Well at least it's not streetview.
I tried to make it clear in my post that I didn't mean to stirr up shit by posting the image and that I understand how it may upset the family involved but seeing as how the above user already had the exact location posted I just wanted to make it easier. I'll go back to lurking, much safer.
Images like this can really fuck with your mind when you're involved with their happenings.
oh no theres 4 whole pixels of him
"Hey can you update your maps to remove the image of our dead son sometime soon" "Haha idiots there are like 4 pixels of him pixels aren't even real lol are you seriously afraid of some pixels this is the internet pal we can do whatever we want get used to it >:^)"
The view on this seems to be quite split though there are the people arguing "lol 4 pixels" and the ones that seem to get offended by the 4 pixels. My question is, what's the "correct" view on the subject? There are worse things getting posted in SH, suicide bomber victims or people suffering from very serious diseases and they are quite gruesome. Who cares about those people? What if the dead one in the picture doesnt have any family left that grieves for him? I even stated in my post that I can't judge since I've never been in that situation and hopefully never will but I was just posting what the user above me posted and he recieved winner ratings. [editline]19th November 2013[/editline] Hell you can watch people die on Liveleak, whats up with that? Is that abnormal as well? What about that video were the militia of some foreign country burry somebody alive? I dont remember anybody complaining about that when it got posted, explain this to me please.
If google buckles to these outrageous demands then the internet as we know it is DEAD they came for guns and I didn't say anything because I don't use guns they came for our gays and I didn't say anything because I'm not gay they came for my cheerios and I didn't say anything because I prefer corn flakes but then they came for my pictures of dead kids and there was noone left to speak for me

"Ma'am, do you know how satelites work?"
