While calling the show itself “funny,” Spicer told “Extra” on Sunday that McCarthy “could dial back” a bit from her exaggerated impersonation of him as White House press secretary. McCarthy made a surprise appearance on “SNL” last week to take on the role of a revved-up, gum-swallowing Spicer screaming at reporters in the White House briefing room.
Best part:
“’SNL’ used to be really funny,” Spicer said Sunday, “There’s a streak of meanness now that they’ve crossed over to mean." For those who haven't seen the skit:
Is he telling a bunch of comedians to not take advantage of the best material to ever enter the white house?
Snowflake Spicer needs a safe space! Sad!
Snowflake Spicer needs a safe space! Sad!
He's suffering from LOW ENERGY! Unacceptable!
Huh wow, one of the few times I've found Melissa McCarthy funny, the world really has turned on it's head.
At least he didnt flame as much as Trump He still needs to fuck off and resign though. But sadly probably he will be there until he gets sacked after the impeachment
I didn't even know who Sean Spicer was until he walked up to that podium and started berating the media. Not the best first impression.
heres a thought then, when the WH asks you to lie to the public , dont. then maybe snl and the public wont hate you
heres a thought then, when the WH asks you to lie to the public , dont. then maybe snl and the public wont hate you
It would also help if your administration doesn't talk shit about the show.
it would also help if you didn't work in the white house, considering that in this climate any political position is going to be hated by at least 50% of the population. if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen and all that.
The tough thing about being the White House press correspondent is that you have to lie about practically all your answers. Everytime you hear about them, it's about how they gave a terrible answer, lied, or avoided the question. However, I don't recall any of the correspondents from other administrations being so personally aggressive towards opponents and critics. If Spicer isn't going to correspond anything, then they should just drop the pretense and do away with having a correspondent.
"It's only funny when they mock democrats" is all I'm getting from the Trump administration the past few weeks.
that was a pretty funny skit tbh
didn't know melissa mccarthy had it in her to be funny also kstew looked a lot better than she usually does

What a pussy. It's because of these thin-skinned conservative pussy nu-males that americans are the laughing stock of the world. These are the guys that drained our masculinity

An important part of the Press Secretary's job is their ability to impact breaking stories on the administration, and when stories and rumors come up that they know are false, the Press Secretary can use their position to unequivocally state that that the story is false. Of course, that only works if the Press Secretary tells the truth in all other occasions, if they lie constantly, about all unfavorable stories, including those that are true, then their word is meaningless. And because their word is meaningless, when an actually false story comes up, the administration will be unable to deal with it, because the Press Secretary will have no reputation with which they could dismiss it. It's the boy who cried wolf, essentially.
This is the kind of stuff the White House spends time on now. So pathetic.
The Trump regime spends so much time playing defense and worrying about people much smarter than them calling them names that they don't have any time to actually govern this country (or find the light switch for that matter). Sad!
“’SNL’ used to be really funny,” Spicer said Sunday, “There’s a streak of meanness now that they’ve crossed over to mean."
in other words "it was funny until it was me they were making fun of :("
If I ever hold political office* and comedians start impersonating me, I'm going to do the exact opposite. I'll tell them to be even meaner, and give them pointers on how to do it better ("That wig isn't greasy enough, you should look like someone swapped your shampoo bottle for 10W-30 three years ago and you didn't notice"). First, it makes you look like you can take a joke, making you "just a regular joe you could have a beer with", and second, it keeps them focused on minor personal faults instead of actual policy errors. Witness Dubya, who mostly got mocked for accent, dialect and verbal gaffes, and not things like "had CIA kidnap and torture people", "started a war with the wrong fucking country", or "worst economic crisis since the Great Depression". * I should never be allowed to hold political office
That's funny, Spicer, I was just thinking you could dial back on the barefaced liar impression :unimpressed:
For all the times I've seen conservatives calling liberals "snowflakes", they sure did elect a snow-flakey bunch.
